I bought this for my Haflinger gelding. In the winter my horse has an extremly heavy layer of fur. It rains a lot here, and is rarely below freezing. I had been looking for a rain coat for months but could not find anything that was sturdy enough and was without padding or insulation. I bought this and have been very pleased. The quality is great. He measured 74, but I got a 78 because he is so broad chested. I would definately recommend this product.

My horse "measures" 74" but the 81" sheet fits great on the second-to-tightest buckling! He's a 25 yo massive bulldog type horse. He isn't choked at the neck; all parts of the sheet stay put. This is my second Saxon, & I'll continue to buy this product. He doesn't even complain about wearing "old lady purple."

Saxon 1200D Turnout Sheet from Oneida, NY
I've used blankets for years and never have I had such a poor blanket its not even 2 months old and has several tears in it. Its like the material is very old. Now I know why it was on sale!!!

I have a 14h palomino and this sheet is awesome and it looks great against his coloring. I use it to keep him warm at night when it gets below 40. Not thick at all, but don't need it to be in SoCal. Fit's him great, not too short, but he's kinda little.

Definitely not waterproof. My horse was soaked both times we used it. I had to put on her thicker blanket just to dry her off. Durability is fine, but wouldn't use to keep a horse warm and dry.

I love this sheet. The plaid color is really very attractive and doesn't show stains. The fabric is very substantial and sturdy. It does look a bit like a mini-skirt on my 17 hh Warmblood. But all Saxon's are a little short on the sides, especially if your horse has a hay belly. Someone asked about velcro, there is no velcro on this sheet. (But would be a great addition) This is not a heavy blanket, it has no fill, so don't buy it for warmth. It's a great waterproof windbreaker for windy, rainy early fall and late spring days or as a light blanket for nippier nights/trailering. I also layer this overtop of a non waterproof stable blanket for turn out at times. Can't beat the price when other name brand sheets are twice as much!

I have tried many brands, even much more expensive, over the years, but I am never disappointed by the quality, fit and durability of the the Saxon 1200 denier waterproof turnout blanket. I run a horse rescue, and every horse in my barn has one of these blankets.

I got the medium turnout blanket. Used it all last winter pretty much 24/7. No rips, tears, all hardware stayed in tact and the horse stayed dry. My horse size is an 84 and I ordered an 84. Fits perfect front to back. The only complaint I have is that it seems a bit short around the belly. But still kept her comfortable in extreme weather. Skinny or lean horses probably will be fine. Fat horses will just have a bit of air down the center of their bellies. Absolutely worth it for the price.

I was unhappy with this blanket. Ripped the first year at the gusset area. I've had a blanket in the past that latest years !

I bought this blanket about 3 years ago and the only issue I've had is the SAXON label has been half pulled off. I don't want to say ripped b/c the fabric didn't tear! I think they run a little big- I bought an 80" and it's a touch large. But over all- I love this blanket!!

The works good on my horse. I've had it on her and she seems comfortable in it! She's rolled in it and other than getting dirty nothing has happened to it yet.

This blanket is just not durable! It ripped after having it on for 2 days! We put repair patches on it, but after about 3 months, it has at least 7 holes in it and new ones are gradually forming. Both leg straps broke after 1 washing, and the front nylon straps are very worn and frayed. i've only had it for one winter.... i doubt that it will last another.

I have a thoroughbred with really thin skin and this blanket left no rub spots on her, and it was pouring rain today and she was dry and warm still! Only thing is she has a tough time lifting her tail in it. Its cute and is a great turnout.

Loved this sheet from the moment it arrived. Aside from being visually appealing, the 1200D seems to be holding up to 24/7 outside wear. Fits true to size, love the criss-cross surcingles and fleece withers.

I bought this blanket with some fill in it for an all around blanket for california weather. My horse is really tough on blankets and the gelding he lives with loves to chew up anything I put on him. For the price, I was hoping this blanket would hold up for at least a few months, but I was very pleasantly surprised. For the price, this has been a great blanket that holds up to my goofy gelding. He wore it almost every day this season, no rips or tears, no rubs or bald spots, and it doesn't even shift and stays in place great. This is better quality for the price than many other blankets I have tried, I would definitely buy this brand again.

I have owned this blanket for a couple months and it has held up on my mare(who tends to be very rough with blankets). Just the "SAXON" emblem has almost torn off. Other than that it is in perfect shape. She has worn it in -20 temps and she was fine. Keeps them warm and dry. Pretty too!!

I ordered a medium weight version for my daughter's horse for winter, and liked it so much that we've ordered a light weight version as well. The blanket it tough, has held up well to the ultimate butt rubber, and after several months still looks brand new. It's hardy, the colors are flashy, and it has kept him dry and warm during an unusual winter. 25 at night, 45 during the day and he's never too warm or cold.

The size runs a little narrow. My horse is not fat and is only 15hh,but I've got the front on the last hole.Otherwise,it's a tough sheet and keeps her dry.

This blanket works very well for my Friesian who doesn't need a blanket for warmth but to help keep him clean while running in an open pasture/field with other horses. Very durable product - have purchased two more for my Quarter horses. The waterproof and windproof really helps without causing them to overheat.

I purchased this blanket 7 years ago, after I moved to Nevada, trying to find one that wouldn't rip the minute my TB mare tried to pull on it. It withstood her wear and tear, the cold winters and being stored for three quarters of the year. After moving back to Washington, it still withstands years of use on multiple horses. This is truly the best blanket for the price!

These sheets hold up well in the pasture & the elements. They do not rub and appear to be comfortable for the horse. I bought one for each of my horses & have recommended to others.

I bought this sheet for my old arab in prep for the spring rains. Saxon runs large - I have over 15 years worth of saxon horse wear - so I always take that into consideration when buying for my horses. My arab was normaly a 78 - he was big for the breed - but it was too big for him. Now it is my TBs. It has gone through four horses in two years and looks like new.

I got this sheet about a year ago and it is still in great condition. My horse wears it 24-7 in the spring as a rain sheet - his body is always dry under it when I take it off. Size runs a little large, but it is better then running small.

I bought this sheet for my 2yo walkaloosa, and it fits him prefectly. my guy is the weakest link in the pasture with two moody mares, so he gets bit at and kick at, and he himself bits at the sheet time and again. The sheet is holding up great, no rips or holes or missing pieces in sight. Always stays in place I never have to fix it. I love it.

This is a fantastic sheet at a great price. It seems to be very sturdy with a nice smooth lining (no fill). It is waterproof and breathable-a great rain sheet for changing seasons.

I purchased 2 of these sheets (an earlier version)in 2006. I have used them through the winter in Idaho and Nevada on my horses who are not clipped but need a little extra protection from the weather when turned out. I am still using them with only one small tear in one of the sheets. My horses stay dry, the sheets stay in place and do not rub. This is a great value!
