How do you measure for size? E.g., Small = 14" x 15", but what doe these measurements refer to on the leg/calf?

Does one measure "one inch below the knee" for width? Around largest part of calf??
What about measuring for length?

Best Answer: The measurements are length x width (14" tall, 15" calf). For the appropriate length, sit down in a chair with your legs bent at a 90 degree angle, measure from the back of your knee to your ankle bone. For the appropriate calf width, measure the widest part of your calf while wearing your breeches.

Are they true to size and what is their durability?
Jane M on Dec 2, 2013
Best Answer: We purchased these for my daughter in June 2013. My daughter loves them. She wears them about 4 times a week and they are very durable. These half chaps do not show any wear as of yet. They also clean up great and are very easy to take care of. We just watched a video of her at a show and you can not even tell she is wearing half chaps, they look like boots because they fit so well.
