Best Answer: I bought a 38" for a 13hh pony...it feels really nice but I haven't used it yet. So you will need bigger than that...:)

are the buckles stainless steel?

Best Answer: They aren't marked as stainless, but I will say there is not rust on the buckles after months of use in the Florida humidity and being caught out in the field by sudden torrential downpours
