I purchased this but because it had a port and the sides move. I seem to get a good response from my mare with it but it some times pinches her so I had to put bit guards on it. Other than that its great. Although, it started to rust almost right away. That is probably the biggest annoyance for me.

This bit is great, I get very good response out of my mare and I barely have to pick up on the reins. My mare loves this bit with the copper roller, sweet iron, and inlays.

I really like the way my mare goes in this bit. The only thing I dont like is that it started to rust with in the first month.

This is a great bit. I like the way it gives a good gentle single by being split AND ported. My horses hate snaffle bits (so do I) of any kind and have never responded well to them, even as colts. They are both over 17 now and both much prefer a ported bit, I think they like the way they can lift it with their tongue and get it off their gums when riding, giving their mouths that comfort of not having it sitting on their gums all the time. This bit is the best of both worlds for them. I can give individual signals and they get the comfort they like. Great, Great bit.
