Note to Arab Owners, 3/23/2012

Char from SE WI

I got the 5 inch for schooling Arabs, and a five inch mouth is too big. It is made of quality material and deserves all the raves, but with an Arab you should get a 4.5

BEST BIT EVER!, 10/10/2011

Hannah from Louisiana

I'm a dressage rider and this is honestly the ONLY bit you need! With correct use, it's possible to supple and train any horse with this bit. This is the only bit my horse goes in, very effective without causing pain. THE MOUTHPIECE IS SUPPOSED TO RUST! That's the point of sweet iron! The rust helps the horse salivate.

Recommended by COLLEEN KELLY, 8/19/2010

Simple, easy, non problem bit for young horse. Used it for years, and so have a lot of very nice people at very high levels. The nicer the hands the nicer the bit becomes. I bought a hand-made version, attached to a blinkered bridle c.1920 in Tennessee Museum, and another at a flea market in Perth. Hand made original bits. They're amazing. And, they're still in use. Only this is the posher version. I have used State Line Tack around the world and they are wonderful. Just click-click on their webiste, and your package arrives at the door. They're great! Highly recommended to all my international students.

My horse loved this bit, 6/5/2009

Suzanne Mentone from Henderson NC

I was recently given this bit when my instructor showed me how the french snaffle I had on my t/bred hung too low in the CENTRE of the mouth and my horse used to chew and chew all the time. I thought I just had a "chewey" horse. She put this bit in and the horse stopped chewing INSTANTLY and stayed quiet in the mouth. I couldn't believe it!! After 3 years of owning this horse I thought I knew him, but low and behold I had an INSTANT quiet soft mouth! Unbelievable. I also agree with the part about "test it out own your own knee". I was ashamed at some of the bits I had and how they felt. They went in the trash that day! Really recommend!

Brilliant Bit, 5/25/2009

Emma Jamieson from Brisbane Qld

I agree! Try all your bits at home on your own knee...and most of them HURT when you pull! How about we get KIND nice bits like this and RETRAIN YOUR HORSE if it pulls or bolts. Not just "outpain" them. This is a BRILLIANT bit. Highly recommended as soft and kind and fits nearly every horse.

Highly recommended!, 5/18/2009

Colleen Kelly from Melbourne, Australia

This bit is the No.1 recommended bit by the Head Rider from the Royal School in Spain - and that's DRESSAGE not just western. It's also the most highly recommended bit by Colleen Kelly, Biomechanics Lecturer who speaks at Universities and Conferences around the world. We chose this bit as the softest bit (test it on your own knee!) and must humane, yet effective bit of all the bits on the market.

Sweet Iron is supposed to Rust, 4/4/2009

Rachel from Hawaii

sweet iron is supposed to rust, thats part of the reason its called sweet iron. The rust taste sweet in the horses mouth and they enjoy the bit more.

Great, but rusts real easily, 4/6/2008

Hannah Burson from Apache Junction, AZ

A great bit and looks gorgeous on the horse. The only sad part is it rusts real easily. Plus my horse needs a stronger bit.
