How do you apply this? Do you put it just on wet spots? And do you use it on shavings or is it made to use on mats?
Thank you.

Best Answer: I use StableFresh on my dogs yard to combat the pee smell since other products for urnine smell really don't work, I mix it in a watering can, approx. 1 cup to one gallon, and sprinkle it over the yard, hitting the pee spots a few time. It also really helps to have the sun dry the area tool
Another way I use this product is in the house. I mix about a third cup in a spray bottle and hit any areas where the dogs have had an accident. I also add some to my carpet shampooer when having to clean a particular hard hit area.

I use pelleted bedding and during most of the year we pour a bag of it into a muck bucket. Instead of spraying the pellets with a hose we pour about 3 or 4 gallons of water into the pellets and within a half an hour they are all puffed up and like sawdust, ready to spread in the stall on top of stall mats. I was looking at this product and thinking that it might be a great addition to the water we add to the pellets. This way, as the horses use the bedding and there are the wet spots they won't smell as bad before we get to them. It's not a huge problem because we clean every day and twice a day if they're in because of bad weather- and this is where the Stable Fresh would be most helpful, especially in the summer when everything smells a little more it seems.
Has anyone else used this product in this way? I am thinking that if I simply add Stable Fresh to the water we pour on the pelleted bedding we will enjoy the fresh smell and it won't attract flies.
We have all manure removed from our property about 4 times a year by a farmer who mixes it with his cattle manure and he spreads it on his fields. This leads to my next question.
Does Stable Fresh interfere with the composting process in any way? Does it disrupt the good bacteria needed to make a good compost?
We have two horses currently but normally have 3 or 4 and live in a residential area. Our barn is 75 ft from our house and about 150 ft from the neighbor's house across the street. It is aesthetically pleasing to look at, the barnyard neat and clean and all is in good repair. We don't have any complaints about smell or flies and most of the time we don't have many flies around the barn anyway- we do when nearby fields are fertilized with untreated manure. That happens in late May and we use fly strips to catch them. I'm hoping the Stable Fresh might make the bedding less appealing to the flies.
We don't use water during the bitter cold because it freezes.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Best Answer: Hi. I live in Florida and use the pellets too. I clean their water buckets into a Rubbermaid wheelbarrow and throw 1-2 bags of pellets into that. Depends on the amount of water from the buckets. I have a unique stall mattress system so I don't actually bed the stalls I use the pellets to soak up IF they pee in them. I do however religiously use the stable fresh. Diluted in a spray bottle. The rubber top layer stays fresh smelling and I believe it breaks down the microbes that may ruin the rubber layer. So far I love this product! P.S. I also compost my manure and I have had no issues with the finished product. Good luck!
