Best Answer: We are using it on our 3 year old who is 15.1 and it fits good with holes to spare. We did wrap the noseband with vet wrap to make it softer on the nose otherwise it works very well.

I have a small arabian gelding who is being started under saddle, and completely refuses to take a bit. Would this be a good fit, and something good to teach him with?

Best Answer: If you're starting out I would try the rope halter that has the rings on the side to start plow reining and then helping you to later on neck reining. The bosal is best suited as a graduate after they've got basic reining down. I do love this particular bosal but I had to start with the snaffle first before going to the bosal.
