I am not a person that likes to purchase blankets due to the fact that they tear so easily and become so much work to repair. Well with this Blanket I can say just the Oppisit, I purchased a foal blanket in November 2011 for a weanling we had acquired that needed some extra protection ... it is still intacted no tears easy to wash and clean and kept that foal happy and warm as a kitten, the second one I purchased was a little over 2 weeks ago for a 3 year old Pintabian Stallion, again I was amazed he has torn many blankets I have placed on him .. this one no tears no rips .. I am looking to purchase more of these blankets later this year ...

This was a pretty blanket and a great price. My mare is not hard on blankets and they usually last 3 years. I tried this one because of the price. What a dissappointment. In 2 weeks the surcingle straps had come off. I did not expect to have the blanket repaired after 2 weeks. The blanket itself was not torn but the workmanship is shoddy.

I purchased this blanket last season 2010 in black, I wanted something that had a high denier and would last a couple seasons. I saw several people in the barn with this brand and for the price gave it a try. It held up all season, and after a hand wash and storage. Back on for season 2. Last year, my horse (is a narrow TB at a size 84 ) played hard with his buddies biting pulling etc. Nothing ripped from what I could see. seams and all held up to rolling and stall use. my boy is a hard keeper and i checked all last season. he was warm dry and kept some weight. I liked it, horse liked it and looks new so no complaints. However i did not have it out to full elements like some so my experience can be different than others. Will love to post next year to see what my thoughts are after the 2nd year .

The blanket is a really nice fit on our horses and looks flashy! It keeps our guys warm and comfortable in our low degree weather but... the material rips at various places. Ours ripped in front on the chest straps as well as the belly straps. It's a good blanket but needs doubled stitching and reinforced seams to hold up better and better quality material.

We moved our horses from FL to ID in the middle of winter. Purchased these blankets because it was 15 below upon arrival to ID. Blankets held up great through wind, rain, snow and horse play. Although my horses don't wear the blankets 24/7, I can't speak for complete durability. They are worn dependent on weather but have met my and my horses needs greatly.

My daughter bought this blanket for her QH. We normally don't blanket him, but we lost his barn buddy in the Fall and wanted to make sure he stayed warm through the winter. This horse ruins everything - leather halters, sheets, fly masks, and even his water bucket. I was not hopeful when I saw the very reasonable price, that it wasn't closed front, didn't have a belly band. I was pleasantly surprised! He wore this blanket 24-7 for most of the winter and it is not only still intact, but kept him warm and dry with no rubbing and he has a great show coat now. Since our horse couldn't destroy this blanket and it worked so well for us, I would recommend it for ANY horse! Thanks for offering such a great product!

we had this blanket for little more than two month and up to yesterday we were happy with it even through heavy rain. However yesterday we found our skinny TB mare shivering under her blanket because the blanket soaked through (the rain didn't creep in, but soaked through). Since this blanket is little more than two month old I find that very disappointing and my conversation with customer service brought up that the blanket has a 30 day manufacturer's guarantee and only 5 days of horse.com warranty. If you have cold, but not rainy winter, this blanket might be fine, if you have heavy rain, it most likely will be disappointing.

I bought this blanket a few months ago and we have had -20 degree weather and he has stayed nice and warm under this blanket. I love the higher neck and it hasn't left any rubs on his shoulders at all. My only problem with this blanket so far is that the middle of the tail flap got torn after a few weeks of rough play with his pasture buddies. The rest of the blanket has held up well though and is definitely water proof!

Although my horses did stay dry in a very heavy rain I bought 4 of these blankets and 3 were torn up within a week. Our horses are not hard on blanket either. One horse came up missing the blanket and when we found it the straps had ripped off! Only one of these blanket has held up and it is on my 20 year old horse

I just put this on my horse while he was dry, as we were expecting bad weather to move in. We have received lots of rain, and now are expecting snow with high cold winds and underneath his blanket he is wet. He hasnt rolled or anything. It is a good looking winter blanket, seems durable, but not waterproof.

I actually bought 1 because of the great price and strong denier. However I had to send it back immediately as it came apart at the seams after 1 wearing on a mare who is by herself, soon the 2nd one soon started unraveling. It picks easy and comes apart easily at the seams. I have spend more money fixing this blanket, than it was worth.

One of the worst snow storms in awhile blew through this weekend with temps in the teens and over two feet of snow over three days. We had many trees blow over and many tops were snapping from the weight of the wet snow. The horses were stuck out in the worst of it when a tree took out their shelter on the first day, the two horses in the Tough 1's stayed dry and warm, their blankets stayed on with no problems. We have had them on in more suttle weather but this was a test. The other horses in our old blankets needed to be changed out daily as their blankets were soaking through. I am ordering two more.

I recently bought 2 of the Tough 1 1680 Denier Turnouts. With our temps plummeting to -21* I have found these blankets are not only warm but durable. I let the horses out into the indoor arena while I clean stalls, they run around and "play". Their blankets do not shift, or bind their movements. The pleated shoulders are a great feature while allowing complete stride. I am so very pleased with this product, that I ordered two more.

Awesome blanket for those cold Montana winters, has the most fiberfill insulation for the lowest cost and the outside material is very strong.
