Product Summary:

Tough-1 Wild 600 Denier Turnout Blanket

Protect your horse with the Tough-1 Wild 600 Denier Turnout Blanket. The material is breathable, which allows your horse to stay comfortable. This blanket has all the features you will want to provide your horse with.

  • 600 Denier Poly - Medium Material Strength-Not Recommended for horses that bite, chew or rub on blankets or for horses turned out with a companion or in a group. Material may tear or rip if caught on a nail, rough fencing or thorns from bushes.
  • 250g fill - Provides protection from light wind and rain.
  • 210 Denier Poly Lining - Prevents rubbing and helps to keep the coat shiny while preventing hair, shavings, and straw from sticking to the inside of the blanket.
  • Waterproof - coated outer shell with taped seams that repels water to keep your horse dry.
  • Breathable - Designed to allow moisture vapor to pass wick away from the horse and preventing sweating while retaining body heat and repelling outside coldness.
  • Heavy Nylon Binding - Double sewn to secure material and provide additional durability.
  • Reinforced Stress Points - Double Sewn with additional reinforcement to help prevent tears.
  • Fleece Wither - Helps provide protection from rubbing.
  • Double Buckle Front Closure - Velcro Secure with double buckle front straps featuring rust resistant nickel hardware.
  • Action Shoulder Gussets - Allow for freedom of movement and help to prevent shoulder rubbing.
  • Low Cross Adjustable Surcingles with T-Lock Fasteners - Provide easy adjustability to ensure proper fit. Ensure to reference blanket fitting guide to ensure correct fit.
  • Adjustable Elastic Leg Straps - Help to secure the blanket and prevent from shifting from side to side.
  • Tail Cover -provides additional protection from moisture near tail bone.

  • Measuring Instructions - Stand your horse as square as possible, measure from the center of chest around side of the body to the point of the horse's rump just before the tail. If you horse ends up measuring between sizes always round up to the next size to ensure full coverage.
  • Washing Instructions - Machine wash with cold water – Gentle cycle with mild detergent. Air Dry or Machine Dry/No Heat
  • Horses Turned Outside without Shelter - Turnout Sheet and Blanket materials are waterproof and designed to keep your horse dry, however if your horse is turned out in a field without a run in shed or shelter during prolonged rain or heavy downpours your horse may still get wet especially in the neck and tail areas.
  • When using a blanket or sheet it is critical to monitor the fluctuating climate and temperatures even with a blanket that is waterproof and breathable. The wicking properties of a breathable blanket are designed to wick away normal body heat, when a blanket is too heavy the heat and moisture cannot be wicked away fast enough causing your horse to sweat. The temperature and the length of your horse’s coat will determine what weight of blanket you should use. For this reason, most people who choose to blanket horses have several articles of horse clothing that offer varying levels of warmth.
  • When selecting a blanket ensure to take into account your horse’s behavior, environment or other horses that may be turned out with your horse. The lower the denier number the less strength the material has. 420 Denier and 600 Denier are not recommended for horses that bite, chew or rub on blankets or for horses turned out with a companion or in a group. Always ensure your horse’s blanket is properly fitted and all straps are adjusted correctly, if a blanket is too tight or too loose, straps may break and material may tear. For younger horses or horses turned out with a companion or in groups, it is recommended to purchase 1200 Denier or 1680 Denier material as these are stronger materials and are less likely to tear. Certain types of fencing such as barbwire or foreign objects such as nails will easily tear any blanket no matter what the denier, always inspect the area in which your horse is kept to remove any nails or jagged fencing that may cause damage. There are no horse blankets that are guaranteed to not rip or tear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it It took me a while to order this blanket since the reviews say it isn't very waterproof. I love the print so much I ordered it anyway and used Aqua Armor on it before using it on my horse. no problems with this blanket at all and it's a fun, beautiful blanket with great color October 26, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product I bought the 81" lime zebra for my palomino mare last year. The blanket was pretty waterproof, unless it was a heavy rain out in which case she would be inside anyways. The blanket kept her warm in snow, wind and light rain and best of all it kept her looking like a palomino, not brown :P. My horse lays down all the time and loves to roll, the blanket has stayed on and not ripped from that. The only time this blanket tipped was when my mare got it hooked on a nail in the barn and it shreaded the blanket. I will be deffinatlly buy another one for its replacement, this blanket has done its job well. September 23, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not worth the money saved Love the colors, unfortunately mine only lasted a week before it was so ripped that I had to throw it away. I wish this blanket was more durable, if it was I would order one for every horse in my barn (8) just because they look so great. Very disapointed. August 5, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst Sheet Purchased to Date I bought two of these sheets. One for my QH & the other for me TB. They are hands down, the WORST sheets I've ever purchased. Neither stand up against even a light rain. Both horses have come in soaked right through the sheets. The quality & waterproofing are not what the description says they are. I've had to replace both sheets. June 1, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by OK not the best blanket, it isnt completely waterproof, youll have to buy a can of waterproofer and do it yourself. i love that the color is very bright and easy to spot. fits high up on the neck which keeps my body clipped TB gelding warm during the winter. He rolls every time he goes out and hasnt managed to make a hole in it yet. not really worth the price March 1, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Okay blanket Within the first month we had this blanket my horse managed to rip three holes in it, two ripping completely through the whole blanket. One thing I can not complain about is it is water proof(: and works great after we patched it up. Wouldn't buy again though, would probably get something a little stronger January 27, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Terrible Blanket This is the worst blanket I have ever bought. It tears all the time and is not waterproof and it is only 1 month old. January 16, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Don't bother This sheet looked really fun, I was tired of trying to spot my bay horse in a pasture full of blue and green blankets. It lasted less than 2 days, the fleece at the withers, the binding underneath and then the fabric split halfway down the back. Thankfully my son who bought it for my Christmas present will be getting a refund from the site. January 6, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by love this blanket I was a little skeptical of this blanket because of some of the reviews, but I bought it anyways and I am really pleased. My horse loves it, and it is indeed waterproof. She's had it for a few days out in pasture and there's just one snag in it. Not a big deal. I plan on buying another one :) December 1, 2011

Rated 5 out of 5 by AWESOME! This blanket is awesome! It is very waterproof, my horses have worn this in torrential rain and snowstorms and have not had an issue with leaking through. Great value, will be purchasing another one. August 29, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not recommended I bought this snazzy blanket for my 8 year old mare i was pleased with the color and the price! but within a week I hear screaming from the pasture i see my poor horse galloping around like a mad women with it wrapped around her like a necklace! and it was not water proof at all! Should be a good light weight blanket.

I have found that the Tough-1 Turnout Blankets are easy to get on & off & hold up well.

My horse is very laid back and I always said if he was human he would wear flip-flops 24/7 and have dreads. This is a perfect blanket to keep him warm with all the snaps, tail cover, extra room on the sides, and of course the print it has great reviews and I was sold.
Risa B on Jan 27, 2015
Love the colorful patterns.

I Have had my tough 1 blanket for 3 weeks and now the outside is all wet. Should I return it?is it normal for this to happen so soon?
Nadine B on Dec 28, 2014
Best Answer: I absolutely love mine, my horses wear theirs day and night and they are outside. Even though the outside is wet the inside is fine.

How do you determine the size you need?
A shopper on Dec 12, 2014
Best Answer: Blanket sizes are measured in inches. you need to measure from the front of the horses chest right back to his or her rump. A common size for the longer big bodied quarter horses are between 78 and 84, draft sizes are generally 87+ except for the little haflingers of course. I had a little Arabian once that was only a size 69.The weatherbeatta brand is oversized but everything else seems to run true to size.

Which one is rainbow peace and peace?
A shopper on Nov 16, 2014
Best Answer: The Rainbow and Peace is a brightly colored blanket of yellow, orange, some blue, green, red, purple blending in with peace sign designs throughout through blanket. I bought 3 of them. I like the bright, fun colors and designs; it also helps when I am looking out for my horses in the woods & ensuring they are ok.
