I had gotten this product as a new first-time helmet. Before I used a rental horseback helmet. I had gotten the helmet and put a helmet cover I had also bought directly on it. But when I used it for the first time today my horse was a little afraid. Also it rained to the horse was already spooked enough. At the end of the day I took of the cover to find a MASSIVE chip taken out the front of the visor. It had been on my head all day so it wasn't dropped. The only time this could have happened was when I fell getting on. I will be returning the product and WILL NOT be buying it again.

I just bought this helmet and as others has said it is kinda big but it is wonderful so if you ever fall off the helmet will take the blow not your head. I didnt find any trobule with the velvet but it maybe because I bought and put a helmet cover on mine. But wonderful first time helmet.

I bought this helmet as a first show helmet and found that it was extremely non-flatering to the heads shape! It is almost embaracing to wear! It does seem to hold up from the drops and falls! Actually my horse was caught kicking it in the paddock and it didnt showany wear from that. BUT NONE OF THAT MATTERS IF IT DOESNT LOOK GOOD! Lastly it is a bit heavier on the head than most helmets. Wouldnt recommend.

I bought this helmet 2 years ago and it still looks good! It is a good quality helmet. I keep a helmet cover on it to help protect the velvet, but I'm sure if you don't have a helmet cover, it shouldn't get ruined.

i have gotten two of these helmets
the first time i fell off and the dial fit completely broke
also the velvet comes off wayy too easily
the nice part of the helmet that covers the part that actually protects you pops off. because it is only held on with big globs of glue.
terrible helmet. terrible quality.
i'm no longer going to buy a velvet helmet anymore.

I didn't have exactly this helment, but the one without the dial size thing. It worked wonderful though. At a show I got bucked off my horse and hit my head on the ground. The helment cracked but saved my head, no concusion or anything.

I was disapointed in this helmet. There was tape to hold the velvet together! The Troxel victory is a much better buy.

Nice helmet, but the shape is not always flattering. It sits high on the head and is quite heavy compared to others on the market.
