Helmet, 8/11/2012

Alexis from South Lke Tahoe, CA

To all of those idiots who are writing all this negative stuff, shut up. I'll bet that most of you don't like this helmet because your to dang stupid to wear helmets in the first place. If you think it is okay to not wear a helmet, you are stupid. All of you people who bought this helmet is most likely a novice rider. I am an advanced hunter jumper and I wear troxe. helmets when i train over jumps because the shell inside the helmet is strong. It fits' all of your heads tightly so, if you fall off, the helmet wont move out of place when you hit the ground. Before you complain, doyour freaking research.

Great Trail Helmet, 4/2/2012

Mallory from Central Wisconsin

I was really worried about the GPS III system but I have long hair and keep a low pony tail when using the helmet so I think it is very comfortable. I do not have any complaints of this helmet as it is very light weight and breathable. I never used to wear a helmet but after buying this one I wear it all of the time.

Great price but a poor design for adjustability, 2/10/2012

Kathy from Northern California

Nice looking and comfortable helmet but arrived defective. The GSPIII system to adjust is too delicate

very disappointed, 3/5/2011

unhappy from Tucson, Az

I bought this helmet after having had another Troxel helmet for 2 years. Since I live in hot weather I decided to try to get a light colored helmet with more vents so I picked this one. This is the new GPSIII system and it's junk. The first one came damaged - it wasn't even connected inside on one side - they returned it for me and sent out another one and I can't even get it fitted to my head. It was a nightmare to get everything all adjusted and it still doesn't fit right. I used their fit chart and the medium ended up to be too big. The dial system is much better. All I wanted was an upgraded, light colored helmet - I'll be looking at other brands now......

Gorgeous And Comfortable, 2/9/2011

Danielle from Niceville, FL

This helmet was my very first helmet ever. I never rode with helmets since I only ride western but I'm going to camp this summer and you're required to have one. I wasn't too happy about that since I've ridden horses since I was five and now I'm fifteen and I didn't wear a helmet at all. Of course, I went through my falls and everything but I never hurt my head so there wasn't much need for one. Well anyway, I thought since it was my first time wearing one I would hate it. I thought it would be all itchy and uncomfortable. It is the complete opposite. I don't even know I have it on when I'm wearing it. And its light so its even better. I got mine in the Grizzly Brown color to match all of my equipment. I got a nice suprise when it got here, it has little speckles of black on it. I thought it would be plain but it is actually really nice with the speckles. I really do love this helmet and I will buying another Troxel helmet next time I need one.

Awesome Helmet, Teenager & Mother Approved, 11/13/2010

OPA Mom from Orange, CA

It's not easy for a teenager & mother to agree on safety. However, when my 15 year old daughter saw the Troxel Dakota Traildust Helmet, done deal! She loves the cool design & comfortable fit. I love the safety of Troxel brand/history! Thank you Troxel! Finally my teenager & I agree:)

great helmet!, 7/3/2010

Jaimie from

First of all my old troxel helmet, which I've had for years, finally ended up breaking, but only part of the dial fit system. I was looking for a new helmet, and this one was the most comfortable one I put on my head. I wish I had brought along enough money to buy it, but I wasn't planning on actually buying a helmet that day, I was in there for other items. Next time I hope to buy this helmet. I really liked the grizzly brown color best! Also the visor is flexible, I'm assuming that it is made that way so if a rider falls on their face, the visor won't shatter and cut up any one's face, but so when you're riding and not falling, it offers protection from the sun!

Saved My Life, 5/8/2009
Lisa Hall from Alamogordo, NM

I have owned this helmet less than a month and I have loved it from the first minute I put it on my head! I ride 3+ times per week and wear it everytime. I was preparing for a show a couple weeks ago when my horse spooked and took off at a gallop. Needless to say I came off at a high rate of speed and hit a stainless steel rail fence. ER Doc said the helmet is the only reason I was not in the trauma ward and I walked away with minor injuries. I will replace it with another one just like it!

Troxel Dakota Helmet, 4/28/2009

Kathy from Dallas, TX

I really like the grizzly brown version. After a few runins with tree branches I was afraid the finish would be scratched but it wasnt. Holds up well. I am still messing with the fit system but love it overall.

Pickiest Helmet Shopper, 7/12/2008
R. Fogge from Pine Bluffs, WY

I just purchased this helmet after shopping for an everyday helmet. I've looked at so many online and in shops and I ALWAYS come back to this one as the favorite. I tried on so many and instantly favored this one the first time I put it on. Easy to adjust and SO COOL looking. I've resisted wearing one for so long as I've always disliked how I look in hats and helmets..BUT...now, older & wiser and as a mom, getting back into the training business, it's time to listen to wisdom, not vanity. But I actually like every profile of this helmet. I'll wear this one with confidence and focus on what's important.

Total Garbage, 7/1/2008

Joe Ford from Surry Va

The harness and headband is total junk, It is poorly designed and poorly made. The chin strap pulls the sweatband (which itself is cheaply made and too big for the helmet)Over all it is impossible to adjust properly the plastic harness part is cheap made in China junk. The directions were useless as well. This is the second Troxel the first one's adjuster broke after one use. It will be the last Troxel product I buy and this one is being returned.

Brain Bucket works, 6/19/2008
from MI

I came off my horse and hit the ground with my forehead - face first. Grass stains on the helmet, a bent brim but my only injury was a broken nose and sore back muscles when I flipped over after impact. I'll be replacing the helmet with another of this model. I am no lightweight and it absorbed a lot of impact. Always wear a helmet!

Problem with sizing, 5/20/2008

Shelley Ferraro from Pine, Colorado

This is a very nice helmet but there is definately a problme with sizing for men. My husband doesnt have a large head and yet the large size helmet wont fit. I dont know how most men could possible get a helmet to fit with the way this is sized. It looks good but for a man he has no chance of fitting this unless he has an unusually small sized head.

Dakota Duratec AllTrails Helmet, 4/29/2008

Maria from USA

This is the best helmet I have ever had. It is lightweight, cool, and comfortable while remaining protective. Not to mention it just plain old looks good! When branches brush my helmet while on the trail, the helmet doesnt even show scratches as many helmets do. I highly reccommend this helmet to any Western or trail riders its fabulous! Thank you, stateline, for carrying such a great product!
