Why did you choose this?
Is the charger available by itself?
Best Answer: Unfortunately it is a complete set.
This has a picture of a dog on the box. The DVD shows a dog being clipped. Is this for a horse or just dog?
Best Answer: Hi,
U use there's fit face, fetlock and bride path trimming. I have huge warmbloods and Ottbs do to the volume I don't use them to body clip. I body clip 15 to 20 per year, I don't think Thayer could withstand that. They work great for cleaning. Up a body clip though. Susan
can I get a battery for this clippler?
Best Answer: Yes, you should be able to buy a plug in battery recharger and an extra battery too. I always have a battery on the charger and one in the clipper. Looks like this one comes with a charger and an extra battery?
Are these go dogs or horses?
Best Answer: I use these to clip my 16mo old standard poodle. Her hair coat is still soft, so it works pretty well. If I start with a fully charged battery, I can do her whole body with one battery (not Li-Ion and she's 27.25" tall at the shoulder). I do not know how these would do with the more coarse hair of say a bridlepath, ears may be okay, with the coarse clipper head but not the fine clipper head.
Do these work on horses with cushings that need full body clip since he won't shed out?
Best Answer: I have these clippers, and I'm sure they would do the job just fine, though I don't use them for much more than trimming. The only problem might be that you would have to change the battery out fairly frequently, but I have found that if I charge one battery while using the other I am able to clip continuously with little trouble. One thing I love about these clippers is that I have never had them get hot.
I just bought a Wahl Arco 5 in 1. It doesn't say what #'s the blades are and what to do with the sizes ? Thanks for any help.
Best Answer: With the back of the blade facing you, from left to right on the switch at the bottom, the blade #s are as follows from one clip to the next starting with far left:
#9, #10, #15, #30, #40 -- the higher the number the closer the cut. I groom my cream color mini poodle. I use the #10 to shave his face because he is pale in color and his skin is more sensitive. On most dogs you can us #15 for that. Thirty is for the feet. Forty is a surgical cut that the vet's would use to shave an area for surgery. If you just starting, use the lowest blade first. I also so use only a 10 on shaving the belly area and the anal area on my dog. You can use 15 if the dog has darker coloring. I hope this helps.
Can you use these to trim show pigs?
Best Answer: That's an interesting question. And while I have no experience trimming any type of pig, I can tell you that they are EXCELLENT at trimming delicate areas on a cat. They are fast, smooth, and quieter than less expensive trimmers. They also provide a close trim, without nicking the skin. If a show pig has similar or thicker skin than a domesticated cat, I should think the trimmer would be good for that purpose. Hope this response was somewhat helpful. Good luck!
can you use these to trim show pigs?
Best Answer: You probably will be able to trim your show pigs, as long as you have the blade for course hair. I had to use a course blade on my dog maggie as she had very course hair. She was part lab mix. It worked but took a few hours. It's just harder to do. Hope this help your decision.
can you use oster blades on this ?
Best Answer: Hi Scot, No, I do not believe that you can use Oster blades. I have had this clipper for a year and a half and am very happy with it and with the blades. They do a good job on my miniature poodle.
I need to order a new blade. What size does this model come with? This is for my dog, and I use the guides. Am pretty sure I need a 5 in 1 , but I am so used to Horse Clippers so not sure.. Thanks
Best Answer: Wahl Replacement 5-in-1 Blade
can u buy the guide combs separate??
Best Answer: Yes, I got them for mine (additional ones not in the set) -- I thought through Statelinetack. I use mine on my mini poodle and the clipper works well. Call the 800 number and ask if "Stateline carries them. If not they are available at groomers mall.
