Product Features:

  • Made from 1200 Denier Triple Weave Outer material.
  • The Warm 220g of Polyfill is perfect for colder months.
  • Freestyle Gusset for free leg movement.

Item Specifications:

  • Measuring Instructions - Stand your horse as square as possible, measure from the center of chest around side of the body to the point of the horse's rump just before the tail. If you horse ends up measuring between sizes always round up to the next size to ensure full coverage.
  • Washing Instructions - Machine wash with cold water – Gentle cycle with mild detergent. Air Dry or Machine Dry/No Heat.
  • Horses Turned Outside without Shelter - Turnout Sheet and Blanket materials are waterproof and designed to keep your horse dry, however if your horse is turned out in a field without a run in shed or shelter during prolonged rain or heavy downpours your horse may still get wet especially in the neck and tail areas.
  • When using a blanket or a sheet on your horse it is critical to monitor the fluctuating climate and temperatures even with a blanket that is waterproof and breathable. The wicking properties of a breathable blanket are designed to wick away normal body heat, when a blanket is too heavy the heat and moisture cannot be wicked away fast enough causing your horse to sweat. The temperature and the length of your horse’s coat will determine what weight of blanket you should use. For this reason, most people who choose to blanket horses have several articles of horse clothing that offer varying levels of warmth.

Why did you choose this? Store
I bought two of these at my local tack store but they did not have the size I needed for my third horse. I love the front snap closure and the extra padding above the chest band. It looks very sturdy too.

My horse typically takes a 76... do you recommend your 75 or 78?
Tess D on Oct 22, 2016
Best Answer: I recommend the 78, you can tighten the surcingles as needed. If you need to add a sweat sheet underneath, it will be more comfortable. Stateline Tack should offer a free exchange if it does not fit correctly. Without seeing your horse, I would always recommend the larger size.

My horse has a narrow chest n sort of skinny neck. Original or freestyle?
A shopper on May 2, 2016
Best Answer: I would vote for the freestyle any day of the week! the shoulder darts allow for a more contoured fit. I have used it on an older skinny TB and it stays on great. very adjustable with the chest straps also.... These are the only turnouts I will own!

does this style have a belly band?
A shopper on Jan 12, 2016
Best Answer: . I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "belly band", but here goes. It has crossing belly straps to secure it on the horse, but not a separate piece of material to cover the belly. I think that separate piece is what you mean by "belly band". It's just a standard shaped turnout. I use it for my two retired horses who are pasture boarded and not clipped. The higher neck gives them more protection than the standard neck, but not as much as a full neck, because they don't need it. Also, doesn't rub the withers.

How much heavier is a 1200 vs a 600 blanket??
A shopper on Dec 6, 2014
Best Answer: The difference between 1200 and 600 is the density of the weave for the outer material, not the heaviness of the blanket. The denser weave (1200) should last longer and be less likely to rip or tear. To determine the blanket heaviness, you need to look at the number of grams of fill. For example, a zero gram turnout would just cut wind and rain. A 200g (gram) fill would be less heavy than a 400g. I've lived in SC and CA and have never needed anything more than 200g turnouts. However, I also lived in Toronto and we always needed 400g turnouts with full necks. Hope this isn't too much information!

This blanket offers 75 or 78 in sizes but my horse typically takes 76.... do you recommend going up to the 78, or dropping back based on the cut of your product?
Tess D on Oct 22, 2016
Best Answer: I'd recommend that you size down, Weatherbeeta's typically fit large by about 3". I know a mare who measures and wears a 76" in everything but Weatherbeeta's, which she takes a 72" in. Also my quarter horse always wears a 82" but the 78" fits perfect in this blanket.
