I have several of these blankets and they all wear well and are VERY forgiving. I have some in the original style and some freestyle. Both are excellent. If you are using as a turnout mostly with lots of Rain, I suggest confirming it is a 1200 denier. This is important as it has a tighter weave in fabric. In order for a blanket to truly be waterproof it must be at least 1200 denier. Also very important to wash in COLD and with Ivory snow (no detergent!) and line dry to keep water proofing in usuable condition. You will NEVER go wrong buying a Weatherbeta....they simply cannot be beat!

I have purchased two of these and I love love love them! They are very durable and water proof. My two horses run, role, play, and lay in them and they have held up very well. No rips or anything. I would highly suggest this blanket!

I used this blanket for 5 years, and my horse finally outgrew it. It still looked like new and was still waterproof. I was able to clean it and sell it for 50% the price at which I purchased it. I highly recommend this blanket, it's just as nice as the "Horsewear" blankets I have purchased for 3 times the price.

I really do like the construction of this blanket. But I was disappointed to see that the blankets DO NOT come with the clips to attach a hood. It's displayed in the picture and I was frustrated to find out I couldn't use my hood this season. And within a week both leg straps came off. My guy isn't at all a toughie on blankets so I was a bit put off. But other than that, the actual blanket is nice and is great with keeping it's waterproof-ness.

I have used this blanket on my 16.2 OTTB for 4 years and it still looks great. He rolls and participates in lots of "gelding play" in it and there are no rips, tears or broken hardware on this blanket. It fits great. I love the longer length of it as compared to other blankets that barely cover his sides. I highly recommend this blanket. Great product at a great price.

I got this blanket for cold nights in our barn. It keeps my clipped dressage gelding's coat shiny and short, I don't know if this blanket is good for outside turnout because I have never used it as a turnout. From the way it is made I would think it to hold up very good. If your looking for a warm blanket for a show horse, this is the one!!

i love my quarter horse from Quakertown, PA
i ordered this coat in a 75 for my 4 year old quarterhorse. Looked great, good hardware, looked tough, but when i tried it on, the front was way below his knees. I guess this isn"t a coat for young quarterhorses, but i should've known to order one in quartrhorse fit. Looks great besides the fit.

Bought it last year for an OTTB I'm leasing... He wore it proudly all last winter and was warm and dry... not a thread out of place. I kept it clean through the winter with a body brush, and then washed it with a touch of Ivory soap this spring and put it away. I pulled it out again and it looks essentially brand new, and wearing well (and still waterproof) this year. The blanket does seem to be cut pretty generously through the shoulder.

The last Weatherbetta I bought was 15 years ago, I used it every winter, except for 2. It finally fell apart this last winter, a few rips, buckles bent, but just used baling twine to attach.

For the price and the construction this blanket can't be beat! My morgan is notoriously rough on blankets and it has lasted her 2 winters so far. After seeing that I purchased one for my 2 yr old. No rubs or issues with the hardware. Keep in mind it is made for wider shoulders. Blankets aren't designed to fit every horse, just because it doesn't fit yours doesn't mean it's a bad blanket. I would recommend this blanket to anyone on a budget looking for a good blanket.

Great fit. Only downfall was the understrap and front buckle strap. My horse tends to tear the fabric, but she managed to tear off the front buckle and then the understrap in the matter of a month. Good quality, just disappointed w/ the straps. Great fitting blanket overall.

I have about a dozen horse on my farm and nearly all of them now wear Oricans. I have been through all the cheap blankets and they leak, tear, and rub. I have not had a single rubbed shoulder. (I am using these mostly on Thoroughbreds.) They last season after season.
Because the tail flap is large, some mares will urinate on the flap, which can be a bit disgusting. Most don't, go figure.

I love this blanket! This is a good brand for a great price. It keeps my horse warm and dry. The snow/ rain beads right off it. It also stays in place no matter what he does.

seems a little pricey, but fits my horse well and tends to last a good 2-3 years through rough winters and durable with other horses around.

This blanket is very durable but I have an American saddlebred and I am not sure if it's the saddlebred conformation but this blanket rubs my horse's whithers and shoulders, hair right off... I am sure it cannot be very comfortable for him but I need it for the durability. Still trying to find a better one though.

Spent 20 minutes trying to fasten the surcingle buckles when I first put the blanket on my Tenn Walker, VERY CHEAP hardware, not cut right, very flimsy, hard to handle. No way do I want to try that when the weather really turns nasty and I can't even feel my fingers. I've already bought other buckles and will replace these - it's a hassle but I'd rather do that than go to the time and trouble of returning. The blanket seems fine otherwise - not a pretty fit but adequate.

This is the only blanket I'll buy. I have a variety of thick to thin Thoroughbreds who are all horrible to blankets and these blankets last all winter going on 2 yrs now. My horses will tear small bits, but it never runs and is really easy to repair. The blanket fits very well, has ample movement in the shoulder area and NEVER slips to the side. The neck line rests above the withers and doesn't put unnecessary pressure on the back. Excellent product, one I can't live without. I'd buy 50 of these if I had the money for them all.

My horses are really tough on blankets but this one has lasted into the third year now. It is very durable, easy to clean and stays in place. I have them on two Arabians both in their teens, who are very active. They are great in the South starting in the fall and into the spring.
