I like the double buckle. It's easier to cinch up.

I'm hoping the smart cinch will aid in the grandchildren learning to tighten the cinch on their own since this large pony is a little round in the girth.

Just time for a new neoprene and thought I would try this brand. Liked the equalibrium roller buckle.

Love the easy care of neoprene and like the smart cinch buckle.

Does this cinch have felt on the underside next to the horse? I bought a smart cinch several years ago that has felt on the edges and underside and now the felt is hard and causing sores on my horse. Somebody suggested the neoprene, but didn't know if this is just neoprene. It looks a lot like the one I already have. Thanks for any info.

Best Answer: They come both ways, I believe; I have the ones without felt. But this girth rubbed my young horse between the girth and right front leg, and so I discontinued use. My older (and larger) horse has this girth, and he does fine in his--plus it has held up well. So, I think it's a nice, easy to clean girth, but it also depends on the horse. I went back to mohair for my younger, smaller horse.

how do you determine size?
A shopper on Oct 26, 2014
Best Answer: To measure your horse for the correct size, place your saddle on the horse while he's standing on level ground. Tie a piece of string or baling twine to one rigging ring, loop it under the horse's girth, and bring it up to the other ring. Measure that length and subtract 16 inches (round up to the nearest cinch size) and you'll have a good estimate of your horse's correct cinch size.

How wide is cinch?
Brenda H on Sep 11, 2014
Best Answer: The cinch is 5 inches wide - and it works great with my textan roper. It really holds the saddle in place securely with no chafing.
