Thin the leather, 7/26/2012

Emily from MO

When I got this I checked out the other review and before I turned my QH out I thinned a section of the leather crown because of their review and the leather felt a little thick...so far my belle hasn't gotten caught but I have a feeling that if she does then the part that I thinned will break.....but remember to thin the leather crown before you use this!!!!!

Did not break!!!, 11/2/2011

MISTI from Western PA

We had a disaster with one of these halters, a horse was able to pull a wooden fence post out of the ground, break 6 boards and run around the pasture terrified with the post dragging behind, the snap of the lead rope finally broke! The horse was so terrified he ran through 3 SETS of wooden fences. I was VERY upset that the leather halter did not break! The halters run way large, we use a plain leather halter with a breakaway fuse on that horse now. I know, he's a jerk, but the point is that's why he had the leather breakaway on. Thank goodness for wooden fences and minimal injuries!
