Hi,

I'm looking to buy some inexpensive halters for my children for everyday use (so the niceer ones I just invested in for when we go to show don't get overly beat up:-)). I'm still learning about horses and how to size things and am trying to buy one halter for a Cob size and one for a Horse size. Any thoughts on how to match that up with the sizes listed for this halter?
Cambria K on Apr 13, 2014
Best Answer: I have a quarter horse with average size head for her breed and I got the "average" size. It fits her great I use the 2nd hole from the top. For the cob you would want the "small" size.

On another note if this is for kids use, this halter has no clip. So depending if the kids can reach to put the halter on over the horse and latch it themselves you may want to spend the extra $3 for one with the clip that can slip over their ears and then clip without having to latch into a hole. But either way I am very happy with this halter.

How small is the small? I have two Arabians and want to order a size that it not too loose and not too tight. I like these halters because I don't need a side lip in the throat latch.
Galen M on Apr 12, 2015
Best Answer: Unless your Arabs have extremely typey heads or are younger than 2, the average halters should work. I buy these for my Arabs. The small is good for a yearling or smaller 2 year old. :)

will the large size fit large draft horses?
A shopper on Jun 3, 2015
Best Answer: I don't think it would. I purchased a large for my Paint and she has a standard size horse head. Large is typically considered standard horse size. For draft the size is normally XXL or will say draft.
