Weaver® ProTack Oiled Split Reins are crafted from heavy russet harness leather and finished with a four-step process. First, extra-heavy leather is double-stuffed for a “leadey” feel. It is then dipped in oil to add weight, dressed with saddle butter, and then hand-rubbed. The leather is soft, supple and weather-resistant while providing a broken-in feel and a classic look.

Nice Reins, 11/26/2011

I really like these reins, they are heavy and thick, and are nice and long as well. The quality is very good and even though they came out of the box a bit stiff, they are becoming more supple the more I use them.

The leather these are made from is nice but the color is MUCH lighter than what is pictured. More like a dun than a russet.

Great set of reins, 9/9/2011

I got these reins to go with the matching headstall and they are simply wonderful. Really nice quality and feel. I got them in 3/4in width which is just perfect. They feel really great in my hands. I can't wait to try them out. So unless they end up being horrible I wont write another review!

Good Quality at a Good Price, 7/26/2010

I was sceptical about ordering equipment on line without being able to see and feel it for myself. These reins are a nice thickness but soft and pliable. The extra lenght is very helpful to be able to correct the horse without having to carry a crop also as my horse only once in a great while needs a reminding spank. I'm planning on ordering another set shortly.
