Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product! I absolutely love these spit reins! I bought the London tan matching headstall and breastcollar and it looks great on my bay mare. Excellent quality! February 18, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by concho fell off while riding I'm glad to see the other reviews that the reins are reliable; I'm having one set replaced in the hope that it was defective; on one set the conchos don't tighten completely, the star just spins, on 3 out of the 4 connecting points, 2 on the reins, and 1 on the headstall. Luckily we were stopped when we had a swinging rein, concho and screw completely gone, nowhere to be found, we were able to tie a knot to get back to the barn, and no one was hurt, but now I'm paranoid, and check all conchos every time I ride to make sure they're all still tight. I haven't received the replacement yet, that's frustrating, this incident happened in April. As I said, one set is fine, conchos tightened up and haven't come loose, so I'm hoping the replacements are not defective. If it's not defective, and I have no further problems, I would give 5 stars. Rated 5 out of 5 by best basic show set!! I bought the browband headstall and breastcollar to go with these reins and I have had them for about four years now and these are the only reins I like. They are a great wieght for showing and schooling and they are very reliable. my sister who is just learning to use split riens loves them!!!they look nice and last long, and when you ride during the harsh NY winters and you are wearing gloves u need alot of feel and they give you peace of mind that they will not slip through your hands while riding! again great basic show set!!! I like to have reins on every bridle I own so I don't have to worry about switching things out last minute. These match the headstall, so thought I would give them a try.
