To try to reduce the rubbing/breakage of hair under the back of by saddle which is bouncing while I lunge my horse. I suspect the wool of my main pad is adding to the hair breakage.

These pads do an excellent job at keeping expensive saddle pads clean. If you have a picky horse like mine (who will buck if there is anything under his pad) these pads are a great liner!

Why don't these Western Cotton Quilted Underpads come in colors? White would look dirty so much faster!

Best Answer: The idea for these is to go under the western pad/blanket and should not be visible unlike the English sheets. They are not there to look pretty but rather to always have a clean sheet on your horse's back. They are much easier to wash than a thick pad (I just throw them in the washer) and easy to change (I use them for one ride then wash)
