I use this bit for trails and in the final stages of training and horses absolutely love the thing. I have had horses suck on the bit to keep it in their mouths after rides. It's light and the copper middle link is perfect for horses who have had issues with bitting in the past. I've had it for a few years now with no issues at all.

My gelding is so perfectly happy in this bit. I won't use anything else!! He's so content and light in it! I'm not sure what it is that he loves so much, but I've now bought a french link dee for our English stuff, to see if it's the shape of the mouthpiece he likes. Either way, it's a beautiful bit, easy to clean, shines right up with just some water and a sponge. Love it!

I used this bit on my young Quarter Horse gelding when I showed him in Horsemanship and Pleasure. It is perfect for horses with very light mouths, because this bit is pretty much a piece of metal string across their tongue. It does not aid with headset if your horse is not trained to give to the bit, and it does not offer much stopping power, but for horses with a lot of natural rate, it is perfect. Loved it!
