I HAD LOOKED SEVERAL PLACES TRYING TO FIND A DOUBLE EAR HEADSTALL. I HAVE A LARGE QUARTER HORSE MARE WITH A LONG FACE. THE NORMAL TWO EAR HEADSTALLS DON'T LEAVE ENOUGH ROOM FOR HER EARS. THIS HEADSTALL GIVES HER EARS MUCH MORE ROOM. SHE'S VERY HAPPY WITH IT!

Will this work well with horses that are head shy?
Judy L on Dec 10, 2014
Best Answer: A head shy horse needs some training first. I would go with a brow and stall or remove the two ear pieces first. Attach a rubbered snaffle bit and just use the one piece like that until the horse becomes confident about putting a bridle over the ears and there is some pressure on the poll. Eventually place one piece of ear piece back and later on the second ear piece. This is a very simple designed bridle a head shy horse can be well trained with it. Only thing you will need is time. If you give time you save time. Good luck!
