Product Summary:

Designed to fit under your saddle and over your horse’s withers to effectively redistribute the rider’s weight along your horse’s back. Remarkable results can be seen when you move your weight away from directly pushing down on your horse’s shoulders. Leads come more easily, increased blood flow, your horse tires less quickly, etc.

This felt pad enhancer is made from the finest, needled, “Absorber” felt and can hold up to four times its weight in moisture, yet it dries quickly and is easy to clean with soap and water. 1” thick felt on each side and comes with nylon placement straps.

Colors may vary.

Size: 11" L x 8 1/2" W on each side connected by 1-1/2" web straps

Rated 4 out of 5 by Finally, A way to fit one saddle to two horses! These pads allow me to use my FQHB saddle on my high withered hollow shouldered Easy Jet Doc Bar mare. I've been so afraid to ride her since the big saddle slip incident as she's nearly 16hh tall and rather saucy! Wtih the new Reinsman Flex Pad and these over the top, my vintage Charlie Sanders Roping saddle FIT her perfectly and now we ride! Up hill, down hill, no slip as this rests on top of the saddle pad so it's easy to adjust to get to the right spot. a great little pad that saved me another 2K for another custom saddle. I can use my old trusty Simco or the new Stealth Manta Trail or the Bushrider Aussie.. ALL fit my wide shouldered barrel body haflinger AND now they fit my sleek race bred QH mare. NICE JOB! LOVE THIS PRODUCT! July 13, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by PERFECT!!! My new saddle is a bit wide for my horse and it sat down on his withers, so I couldn't use it, I found this pad and decided to try it and now the saddle fits perfectly! It raised the front of saddle up plenty high enough and his sweat pattern is perfect. My horse is NOT afraid to let you know when he's unhappy, and he has no complaints with this pad! Good price, good quality, I think this pad will last me a long time. ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I EVER BOUGHT! April 6, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Better quality than I expected! I was skeptical at first when I purchased this wither pad. I was looking to find a thick pad to elevate the pommel of my saddle on a narrow horse i have been riding. This pad is the perfect solution! It fits great under my saddle and over my pad and allows the weight of my seat to be distributed much more evenly. The horse is able to move his shoulders freely and comfortably. This product is invaluable to me as I ride many different horses and like to ride in my saddle if I can. Great product for such a reasonable price!! October 19, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic!! I have a 5 year old, mostly mustang horse, that basically has no withers so my saddle sat down in the front and I always felt like I was sitting over his head. I also had a constant problem with saddle roll. I saw a horse show where these pads were used and decided to try them. For an inexpensive product they made a million dollar difference in my ride and how my horse moves. I put these pads over the saddle pad and under my saddle. They did not move at all or bunch up in any way. I would highly recommend this product. March 16, 2010

I have a horse with high withers, and using two thick pads is too much and hard to get the saddle tight. hoping this will work well.

I actually use this as a shim behind the withers to life my saddle off and away from my horse's shoulders so he has free range of motion. If I saddle him without it, he bunny hops at the canter. With the shim, and he's happy to canter along.

I have used a wither pad like this for a year now, it works perfect with my saddle and on my mare.

my horse has high withers and this helps alot

Does this withers pad go between the saddle and saddle blanket? My TB needs a padded saddle blanket or something extra between the saddle and his shoulders to help with his narrow shoulders. I'm in the market for a new saddle blanket too.
Shelly L on Sep 6, 2013
Best Answer: Shelly, I found that these wither pads were too thick and created pressure points. If you did use them, they go between the blanket and saddle. You might want to consider a therapeutic pad that has a shim system. CSI pads do, Parelli Smart Pad is another option. The Corrector by Len Brown is another alternative (I use it just about everyday). There are also pads that have a thicker layer at the shoulder area to fill in the space but aren't shimable. Hope this helps! KD

Does this go under a regular saddle pad or replace the saddle pad?
Judy L on Sep 27, 2014
Best Answer: I use this on my Offtrack Thoroughbred who does not wear a western saddle as comfortably as a Quarter Horse would because of where it hits his withers. To answer your question, this is simply used along with the saddle pad and saddle as protection & comfort for your horse. It is used under the front portion of saddle, on top of the saddle pad (so in-between saddle and saddle pad where the saddle rubs/touches withers.)
