Is a curb bit better than a snaffel bit?
C B on Dec 2, 2013
Best Answer: C B:

It depends upon the training level of the horse and rider as well as what you are doing. A snaffle bit is used by many as an "entry level" bit and then you progress up from there. However there are many horses who will only go in a snaffle. What kind of riding do you do? Do you plan to show? Local level or rated shows?

Typically you ride with two hands in a snaffle bit and one handed in a curb bit.

If you are still unsure of which bit your horse might need the best advice I can give is to find a mentor or trainer to help you. Someone who knows your horse and your goals will be better able to assist you. I hope this helps!
