can i put a curb strap on this?
alexandra m on Aug 13, 2015
Best Answer: Yes, a curb strap can be put on a snaffle bit. It serves a different purpose on a snaffle than on a shanked bit. I believe some people used a curb strap on the snaffle to prevent it from being pulled thru the mouth when one is pulling on one rein and horse has tendency to open mouth allowing the ring to slide through some. I have never heard of one putting using a curb on a snaffle to put pressure on the chin, as it is used with a shanked bit.

Anyone know how thick the mouthpiece is? Is this bit good quality?
Sarah g. f on Oct 19, 2013
Best Answer: I don't know how thick this bit is, but it is fairly thin and it is very good quality. I have had this bit for 3 years and the only problem I have had is my horse chomps on the bit and it dented a little bit, but other than that it is a very good bit and I use it on all three of my horses.
