can this be rinsed with water to clean after a ride?
Anne Warriner on Feb 22, 2014
Best Answer: Yes it can, and it cleans up real easy, I ride dense woods and clip for trailrides, and this is the 3rd 1 that I purchased over a 20yr term....
My horse also has wide withers, and I don't have to use anything else but this pad...
I cannot find anything to compare this to, price wise, nor in thickness...
And it keeps every saddle I have from slipping...
I hope you enjoy it, for there is no other place to get this particular pad, nor for the price....which is really very very cheap....

I am looking for a pad for my straight-backed Welsh pony that will help keep the saddle from slipping. Is this as good as the advertised 'tacky' and non-slip saddle pads? It look thicker and more comfortable for the horse...

Best Answer: This is one of the best pads I've ever used. It is truly an inch thick, distributes weight evenly, is easily cleaned, and does NOT slip. The vents along the spine help with air circulation. I bought 2 at the same time - one 32 inches and the other only 30 inches. The 30 inch pad is perfect for my short backed paint while the 32 inch one is ideal for my appy. They are very durable so I don't know when I will need to replace them, but I will definitely purchase this pad again. Highly recommend this product.

What is the thick?... 1"?

Best Answer: Yes . I love this pad. I even had great success with one with sore back. It does make a sweat mark , but well worth the protection . It allows great fit for all saddles. I have even cut it down for English saddle.

Looking for a neoprene pad for high withered horse. Will this do? Does it look like it can cut to make it a pad for a high withered horse?

Best Answer: I have used a neoprene pad since the 90's. It was sold to me by a friend who did cattle drives and the all day, every day use did not cause wear or injury to his horses. I have added a woven blanket on top of the pad to my aging horses as the sway in the back increased causing a higher wither (so I do not cut it). I found any pad thinner than 1" tears easily and is ineffective. I did purchase and have used the 1" pad, I keep one on hand at all times. I also use wool pads depending on conditions. The neoprene will cause a muddy sweat if the horse is dirty but rinses off easily. And my horses did not bruise or wear even when this occurred. I hope this helps. Good luck with your search.
