Why did you choose this? Store
My TB mare is very high-withered and is a rescue - she was very malnourished when I got her. Once I really start working with her she'll need to put some muscle on. I'm hoping this pad will make the saddle more comfortable for her.

Will this fit a dressage saddle?
Patricia A on Feb 22, 2014
Best Answer: This may fit a dressage saddle but seems small to me. I wasn't thrilled with this and barely used it. Seemed small and stiff. Didn't seem like it would cushion more like seemed like the edges would dig in. Wouldn't but again. Would recommend spending more for sheepskin or even fleece.

will this work for western saddles also?
april t on May 13, 2015
Best Answer: I purchased the dressage pad meant for a dressage saddle. It should be wide and long enough for western riding but I would highly recommend the insert pads from thin line which I did purchase (front & back) is all you need to offer more padding and comfort. I absolutely love my pad and would not give it up for the world. I ride every horse in this pad (6 total) and not one has an issue. It has plenty of wither room.

Will this raise the front of the saddle on a low-withered horse? My horse travels downhill and I need a lift.
Marissa B on Jan 6, 2014
Best Answer: Hi Marissa,
Yes it will help raise the front of the saddle. I have a 25 year old horse that has a bit of sway in his back and this pad works great for that. It is only 1/2" thick so it can be easily cut for a custom fit. I use it on top of a regular english saddle pad and use an english saddle.

Does this raise the saddle off a horses back?
A shopper on Jul 17, 2016
Best Answer: I have a shark fin tb and this pad has been wonderful. Certainly helps protect those high withered horses. I use it with my close contact and dressage saddles. His movement is much better and no rubs. I'm not sure I would say it "lifts" the saddle off of their back, because it depends on how your saddle fits also, but it provides great relief and I've been extremely happy with it. Esp compared to others with the price. Hope that helps!
