Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these! VERY comfortable reins. A few friends have tried them out and ended up ordering their own pair. I use the buckle to have one long rein but nice feature you can use them split as well. Would be fun if they came in different colors but at least they offer black or brown. Highly recommend! Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Reins COMFORTABLE!!! I have always had leather reins and I decided to try decision. ever. No more blisters and sore hands!! Thank you wintec! June 12, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pricy, but worth it One thing they don't mention in the description is these are split reins, but they buckle together. They are kinda long, but I like them. The grips are incredible soft, and i haven't gotten any callouses or blisters yet from my pushy mare. They are pricey, but worth it. December 5, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Ok for light work These reins are great for cool light work, though if you're like me and there is a chance that your reins may become wet (be it rain, snow, sweat, or swimming) you will have no grip on them what so ever. Also the grippy part comes off very easily, mice seem to be specially attracted to them. November 23, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by terrific product These cushion grip reins are great for someone who rides all the time. If you have a hard time gripping hard thin reins these are much easier to grip. Cleaning is easy dunk in a bucket and wipe off. They do not get stiff in the winter they are great for the serious rider who has to clean his own tack! June 9, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Reins I've Ever Had I love these reins. The cushion grip is very comfortable and spongy. They are great for horses who have hard mouths or tug at the reins, because the reins never hurt your hands, and I never have to ride with gloves. (The only reason I do is too match my eventing colors) They have held up perfectly over the past 4 years, and still look brand new, and I ride with them multiple times a week. The only downfall with them is that when you clean them with soap and water, the spongy material inside them soaks up the soap, so that can be a little hard to rinse out, but I can always get most of it out, and it doesn't hurt the quality of the reins at all. You should definitely buy these reins! May 12, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Reins! Very durable and comfortable reins. They go very nicely with my Wintec bridle and saddle. No problems here! March 25, 2010

Why did you choose this? Store
I used to have these years ago and sold them with the matching bridle when I sold a horse. I miss them! I was since hit by a drunk driver a few years ago and both of my hands were injured by the steering wheel. I still have trouble gripping things, especially for long periods. I've been using rope reins, but sometimes need something a bit more dressy for competition, yet I can't handle traditional width reins any more. These will certainly fit the bill! And, I'm a Wintec junky!

These reins are easier to grip than the hard leather variety. I never worry about my hands slipping. I have used them for over a year.

are these rines made of leather?
A shopper on May 8, 2015
Best Answer: Our trainer loves these Wintec products because of their ability to stand up to the sweat and lake water on trail rides and then wash clean for a show the next day. We have lots of heat, humidity, and precipitation here in the South and these don't discolor, rot, or hold water.

is the 54" overall or for one side of the rein?
Ellen A on May 16, 2015
Best Answer: One rein is 54" so, the two reins buckled together are 108".
We love ours and several of our friends have purchased them too. They hold up well, we only trail ride so our tack lives in the trailer. Winter and summer these reins are great. My favorite thing about them is to clean them just dunk them in a bucket of soapy water, rub off the heavy dirt and rinse.
