Rated 5 out of 5 by Great saddle I bought this saddle for my mustang a few months ago, and I absolutely love it. It is easy to clean, comfortable to ride in, an fits my horse wonderful. It does ted to pop up in the back, but I added a rear cinch and it hasn't done it since. There is an excellent rear cinch on this website for $10 and it has the connecting latch with it, works great and a great price. You're already getting free shipping, so you should definitely add it to your order! I use this saddle with the Tough-1 pimple grip pad, and the saddle does NOT move or slide back with this combo. Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it! I bought this saddle for my high withered thoroughbred and it fits him pretty well. It is a little big and it pops up a bit in the back, but with the right padding and the second cinch, it fits like a glove and he sweats a solid pattern every time. No dry spots, no ruffled hairs, no pain in his back whatsoever. It looks fantastic, and it's very comfortable too! July 1, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great saddle This saddle is great. I've used it on my half Arab half quarter horse and my neighbors mustang and it fit them both very well. It is very light and comfortable to ride in. Easy to adjust the stirrups. I didn't notice any pressure points after riding. As far as durability, I've had mine for 3 months now with no issues. Price is right, product is good, and my horse isn't complaining. June 2, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wintec Western Saddle This saddle fits my thoroughbred, half arab, and quarter horse equally well. I have to add some padding for the half arab for his high withers and greater dip to his back but once that is done there are no dry spots at the end of the ride. I was very happy to find such a wide fit range in a saddle. With the back cinch tightened down the back of the saddle stays nice and even on the horse's back and does not "pop" up. I only have to do this on one horse because his withers are so narrow. Great saddle for the SS! September 6, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing Saddle I got this as a first saddle and I must say I am very pleased. It's very comfortable and fits any and every horse I have put it on. I don't own a horse, but I take lessons every weekend and it fits every horse out there. Looking for a new one because I outgrew mine :) I want the same one because it is an amazing saddle and I would recommend this saddle to everyone. August 21, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wintec Trail Saddle well worth buying.... I just recently purchased my 2nd Wintec trail saddle in the past 15 years from I had sadly sold the first one I had about 10 years ago and it was still in great shape, even after 10 years of hard use and very little care given on my part. When I sold my Wintec I went through several well known manufactured leather saddles and one other synthetic saddle that I would purchase and end up selling due to being uncomfortable to both me and my horse. (With the exception of one saddle which is a well known treeless saddle that I have kept.) The Wintec saddle is very comfortable, light weight and withstands usage. Very easy to clean with no worry of having to apply leather cleaner or oil and no worries about getting it wet or damp. I can canter through the streams and have a blast now! All you have to do is put it on your horse and go enjoy your ride! Wintec saddles are about as easy as it gets in regards to care, hold up far better than any other 'synthetic' saddle on the market as far as I am concerned. Give and a Wintec saddle a try....both have been great for me. August 10, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by love it! i bought my wintec semi-quarterhorse bar saddle ten years ago and i love it. i have used it on several different types and breeds of horses with great success. the higher cantle is perfect for lazy riders keeping them in correct position. my friend prefers my wintec saddle to her abetta as the seat is more comfortable and the saddle in whole fits her better. i use the full quarterhorse bar wintec on the horses this one does not fit. you cant blame a saddle for dry spots as not every horse is built the same. just because you fit the saddle doesnt mean it will fit the horse be smart and use the best fitting saddle for your horse's body type. wintec saddles are comfortable, lightweight and extremely durable -- the best investment ive made and i own several different brands of saddles. Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Nice Saddle I love this saddle! I hear a lot of complaints about it online but I love it. As with any saddle, it will only fit certain horses, but when it fits it fits. It's very durable and easy to take care of. I also find it quite comfortable, personally, but that really depends on how the rider is built. It forms very nicely to the horse and rider and I have had no problems with it in the five or so years I've had it. March 25, 2010

Let's see what we think about getting Q in a Western saddle...

I am looking for a western saddle that I can use for trails on my 1/2 Icelandic horse. She is small. Any suggestions?
Ruth W on Dec 18, 2014
Best Answer: I bought the semi-quarter for my QH gelding. Due to extreme neglect when he was a youngster, he's pretty small for a QH, built more like a Arab. While I love the comfort and the light weight of the saddle, it's actually too big for him and I have to add a lot of extra padding to keep it from slipping. I also have the Wintec Australian saddle with the adjustable gullets. I've used it on him before, and had a much better outcome with the saddle staying in place.

What is the difference between a quarter horse and semi-quarter horse tree? Trying to select a light weight saddle for my quarter horse. She is about 1100 pounds, but not overly wide of bulky.
A shopper on Nov 9, 2014
Best Answer: If she's not overly wide or heavily muscled a semi will probably work. You can get an idea by centering a heavy, 16 inch wire over her withers where the saddle would go, molding the ends to the same shape as your mare and then measuring between the ends. Semi quarter is about 6 inches and a full quarter runs between 6 1/4 - 6 1/2.

Worst to worst, when the saddle comes, use a clean towel to check the fit so the underside of the saddle stays clean if it needs to be returned.

Would this saddle be comfortable for a high wither Thoroughbred? and also what comes with the saddle when you buy it from
Danielle K on Jan 12, 2014
Best Answer: I purchased this saddle about a month ago to 'break' my paint mare. She has a very lean, narrow conformation, similar to a thoroughbred and there is at least 2-3 inches of wither clearance. I have not had any problesm with saddle rubbing or sore backs, however, I also use a high-end wool gel pad. What you see pictured is what you get: the saddle, stirrups, and nylon latigo... you need to purchase the cinch +/- rear cinch separately.

Does it come with off billet and latigo strap?
Jennifer R on May 9, 2015
Best Answer: Yes, off billet and latigo strap is included. Both are nylon. Cinch of your choice must be purchased.
This saddle was purchased for a client, and he is very happy with it.

I would like to know about seat size fit. I am small, 5'1" and 115 lbs...short legs, too. Would a 14" seat in this saddle fit ok?
Barbara E on Jan 20, 2014
Best Answer: I'm no expert, but, if you're an adult, see if a 15" will work.
It might hold resale value better since that market will be better.
Sadly, without sitting in a saddle it's hard to say.

(I also have NO idea why it says that I bought a 17" brown saddle, when I bought a 16" black saddle)

what is the difference in semi quarter and full quarter?
A shopper on Jul 12, 2015
Best Answer: Full quarter is flatter because Quarter horses have such wide flat backs. Semi is angled slightly. When I did my reading up on that I discovered that they started making saddles like this when the Quarter Horse was the horse of choice. Hope this helps.
