Did you know that riding a horse can be more dangerous than skiing or motorcycling? Even a fall from a standing horse can be tragic. Safety cannot be taken lightly, especially when it comes to protecting your head; a mild concussion can be a life-changing experience, which is why all riders must wear helmets. Safety helmets are close to 80% effective in preventing injury and death. In an effort to raise helmet safety awareness, Statelinetack.com is proud to support International Helmet Awareness Day.
International Helmet Awareness Day was organized as an opportunity to increase awareness about the importance of riding helmets as well as to inform riders on the many benefits of wearing properly fitting and certified riding helmets. Riders of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to show their support on June 9th by wearing their helmet while trail riding, showing or competing.
This is your chance to
- Learn about the importance of wearing a properly fitted and secured, certified helmet.
- Take part in helmet fitting demonstrations.
- Buy a riding helmet at a one-time special discount that Statelinetack.com is only offering on International Helmet Awareness Day.
Not only will you find once a year deals on helmets but you’ll also have the opportunity to learn more about helmet safety standards and traumatic brain injuries. International Helmet Awareness Day organizer, Riders4Helmets.com, will feature a collection of webinars for viewers to ask experts questions about traumatic brain injuries, helmet manufacturing, helmet testing standards, and more.
International Helmet Awareness Day was founded as a result of Olympian Courtney King-Dye's riding accident; King-Dye was not wearing a helmet and seriously injured in a fall. She remained in a coma for more than a month and is still undergoing rehabilitation therapy. King-Dye has been a proud supporter of International Helmet Awareness Day and the Riders4Helmets campaign.
