The History of Horseback Riding

The English riding style, on the other hand, originated in Europe and was eventually brought to the United States. It is regarded as the more proper way of horseback riding, in which there a lot of communication between the rider and the horse. The saddle used is lightweight with a flat seat. Dressage, hunter jumpers and eventing all fall under the English style of riding.

No matter what your preference of riding is, every style is intertwined throughout history one way or another. Olivia Wilde said it best, “If you fall off a horse, you get back up.” It doesn’t matter what kind of saddle you’re in.
