Highly Reccomend!
I use Buteless in conjunction with next level for my older mare. We recently ran out and had to reorder and wait for these to come, meanwhile I bought a joint supplement from the local feed store. The difference in this horse when she is on buteless (and next level together) is night and day. This is a great supplement!

Palatable & improved quality of life!
My horse gobbled it up, and it seemed to make him more comfortable- improving his quality of life. Not to be used at the same time as Previcox or Equioxx. Can irritate stomach.

I like the pellet form for my horse. She takes it well in her feed. Not fussy about it.

Great product highly recommend.
I have been using this product for my two aged horses. A 30 yr old mare with a very arthritic knee and an aged gelding that gets stiff in his hocks. My mare had been doing so poorly a few years ago that I was afraid I would soon have to put her down. It was nearly impossible for my farrier to trim her feet. I have had her on Bute-less and see much improved movement she will even trot and lope in the pasture sometimes. I do still have to give her a bute tablet on the day of her farrier appt but it is so much easier for her and my farrier to do her trims.

I have an older horse with some calcium build-up in her knee and was looking for an anti- inflammatory that wouldn't be hard on her digestive system. It was recommended to use this and I'm excited to see if she will get some relief.

I've used this product for many years. I first purchased it because Horse Journal had tested it and recommended it, since I needed to give it long-term and was concerned about the ulcer problem with giving Phenylbutazone for extended periods. I've found it to be palatable and effective.

maile b on Aug 7, 2015
I have a horse that has a muscle disease, and because of this has injured his leg forever. Bless his heart he is a trooper, his pain comes and goes and so does swelling. Bute was only thing that even helped at times. Have discovered bute-less works great. His swelling when he has it is very little. And his pain level is way down sometimes to nothing. I totally believe in bute-less. Only thing on market I have found that helps him. He deserves the best.
Debbie M on Jul 27, 2015

does it help with founder?
Debra D on Apr 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: My horse has arthritis and it helps with the pain. It won't help with the symptoms, just a pain reliever like aspirin. It works well with Bute, also. Bute can have long-term adverse affects, so this is safer.

I only want to use a pain reliever when I need to shoe my horse...how long does it take before in works ?
louise m on Jun 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately the answer is "it depends." It depends on your horse's level of discomfort. It depends on if this product works for him (same way some humans have to take ibuprofen because aspirin isn't effective for them). It depends on how far in advance and/or how often you give it. Finally, this product is designed for daily use, so you may not find it as effective if only administered occasionally.
Could this help with mares estrus cycle? she has pain day 2 days before follicle is released . I give her bute when she is really uncomfortable.
Cathy C on Feb 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I know it helped my old mare with arthritis pain. I'm not sure about your mare's estrus cycle. Th Yucca and Devil's claw were supplements I was giving my mare already for her arthritis. Since she was on it long term for arthritis, I liked using Bute-less because of the possible side affects of Bute over a long term - liver failure, etc...

Can a miniature horse take this?
A shopper on Feb 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I give it to my ancient donkey, but she is not a mini donkey. It really helps her get around with no ill effects in over a year and a half. If you think you want to try it, you would just need to dose according to weight.
i have an 18 yr old paint geilding with Navicular syndrome in both front legs hes having corrective shoeing and padding under his hooves would this possibly help him get rid of his limp?
A shopper on Dec 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I used this for my 26 year-old Tennessee Walker who had severe arthritis. It definitely helped with the pain associated with the arthritis and having Yucca and Devil's Claw that helps lubricate the joints. It could definitely help with your gelding's Navicular. It is worth trying because it is safer on their system than using Bute on a long-term basis.

How many scoops for a 1500 lb. draft horse?
Carrie on Jan 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We give this to a draft a bit bigger than that. He gets one scoop twice a day. It does seem to make him more comfortable since when we stopped once, he appeared to hurt more. Give it a try.
Can a horse take ButeLess if they are on Equioxx?
Ginger L on Jun 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would definitely ask your vet. They don’t mind these questions.
Is this something that can be in the system of a horse that competes?
A shopper on Mar 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This is certainly a question for your veterinarian, not for other horse owners. Since this is a pain relief product, surely you should be careful not to double up with other such products. Beyond that you should check with your vet and be sure to tell him/her everything the horse is already getting even if it is not prescription.
