Flies and mosquitos are BAD this year. Even though I use other methods, I added this to help my horse out.

MELISSA T on Jun 8, 2018
Ticks are horrible nasty things! Nothing keeps all of them off of my horses, but when I give them BugLyte there are about 75% less ticks attaching than without it so it is worth it to me.
Tracy D on May 15, 2018
This will be our second summer using BugLyte. Pleased with the product last year.
Gail H on May 7, 2018
i've used it for a couple of years and really think it works along w/ an anti-fly program. of course i spray/wipe the horses and also use the metered fly sprayer from country-vet in the barn.

Keeps flies away. no more welts from fly bites
Debra A on Feb 12, 2018
Odor-ease works on reducing poop smell, fewer flies. My sensitive palomino used to react and have swollen bug bites for 3plus days, with BugLyte he's less tasty (fewer bites) and swelling only lasts 1 day. Even picky Arab eats it sprinkled on feed. I've tried similar, like this best because of including both brewer's yeast and diatomaceous earth. Great bang for your buck.
Janet Smith J on Jan 24, 2018
This product is fabulous!!! No kidding, I started feeding this to my horse and within 2 months I was using very little fly spray, and he had the least fly bites of any of the 40+ horses at the stable. Also when the vet checked to see if he need sand clear, he had little to no sand in his manurer, and he was a pasture horse with a sandy ground.

We had bad flies and gnats last year, and wanted to try something new that may work to keep some of them away.
Hayden D on Apr 27, 2017
i'm hoping that this product works like it says it will. one of the horses freaks out when i try to spray anything on her.
karen r on Mar 18, 2017
Perfect feed-through to use in conjunction with Fly Predators. The horses did not seem to mind the taste, especially when "hidden" in their mash.

Item has eliminated bites from bugs....flies still are around due to other horses in the barn that do not use supplement, but they do not stay on our mare and do not bite. No bugs around her "poo".

Great price. Good reviews for tick and bug prevention (Lyme disease is prevalent in my area).

Keeps nates and mosquitoes from biting horses. They used to have open sores from the nates. They don't anymore. They are still bothered by flys, but it is worth it to avoid the sores caused by nates.
Susan E on Jul 29, 2015
Was ordering prepackaged feed-through but decided to try a most cost effective product.
Meredith G on Jul 28, 2015
could not find locally. Have a mare with sweet itch, she has been on this over 1 year and appears to be helping. She had no issue eating it, mixed with timothy pellets and H20.
Judy P on May 27, 2015
I use this last year for horses that were on open pasture (in the buggy southeast) and it worked very well! I recommend gradually introducing it to their feed, because they may turn up their noses at first, but they get used to it pretty quickly.
Margaret M on May 3, 2015
Somewhat helpful, but not cure-all

Does this product keep the gnats aka no-see-ums away? Does the horse smell when using the product?
KATY N on Aug 22, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi, our horses do not smell like the product, although both horses have had a side effect of white tips on their ears while using the product. I cannot officially comment on the gnats, but I can say that I have not seen any of those or mosquitos, which is a big change from last summer. This product will not keep all flies away but it is certainly diminished. There are also less flies on the poop piles, likely because the product makes it way out. We use this in combination with fly predators and also fans in the stalls, so our fly and other bug population has been very diminished.
My mare is currently on Animed Muscle-up and Via Calm.....is it safe to add this to her regimen as well?
A shopper on Jun 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have not used muscle-up but it seems fine with vita-calm, garlic and maxum crumbles. You might be able to reduce or stop needing the vita-calm. I reduced and then removed in a few weeks without her backsliding off the vita-calm. she will go back on the vita-calm when the buglyte is no longer needed. Second year on these products.
Is this Safe to use at USEF rated shows? Are all ingredients approved?
Jennifer B on Aug 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't go to approved shows so I don't know. I suggest checking with the USEF. I'm sure how often the list is updated so it might be a good idea to check on that also.
Do you carry this in 10 pound pails? and if so how much is it? Thanks
A shopper on Apr 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I did find it in a 10lb container at another site and WOW is it expensive! More than the price of two 5lb containers here! Buy the two 5lb buckets on sale, you can't beat this product at this price at this time of year. My horse loves it and the flies let her alone without spraying her.
Do you add this to feed? How much do you use and how often?
rebecca r on Jun 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Here is a direct link to the product label with feeding instructions:

Okay to feed with Cushing's meds?
Janet Smith J on Mar 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it should not interfere with or repeat dosing of anything to do with PPID medications. But when in doubt check with your veterinarian.
Does this work on lice?
A shopper on Apr 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I cannot say for certain. But most bugs are repelled by garlic. I know we no longer have a tick issue when my horses are down near the woods after feeding this to them.
Is this pellets or powder?
A shopper on Mar 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It's powder and works great!
My gelding seemed to not like the smell or the way it made his feed taste. It was almost like he was spitting out his food. I had to scoop what was in his feeder out and replace with new feed without any supplements. Gave the recommended dosage of 1 ounce to begin with. I just got weight pUT back on him from when I bought him and can't afford for him to lose weight because he won't eat. Any suggestions?
Christie on Aug 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have used this for 3 years now on 5 horses. I have found that shaking the container before scooping helps. Also I started using cocosoya oil and it helps it stick to the feed better while giving it a better smell and it also stops it from being so dusty.
I bought this last year y can't i buy it this year?
trudy F on May 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi Trudy,

I'm not sure why you can't because I bought it again this year
in the Beginning of April and I didn't have any problems.

Maybe the item was out of stock when you tried...did you call
customer service to ask them to help you order this?

Hope they can help!

Great product!
I brought this last year and now I can't get it this year in Ca?
trudy F on May 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I bought this product last year for my horse who has been having increasingly worsening seasonal bug allergies. I fed it for about 4-5 months and it did nothing. Don't know why they asked me to answer your question.....

Jenelle G on Mar 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I'm sorry, AniMed BugLyte cannot be shipped to California.
