Anyone know what the shelf life of this is when unopened (or opened)?

BEST ANSWER: It takes a couple months for me to go through a jar and in the past I’ve had it over a year and it was fine.
I want to use this for my dogs?
nikij on Apr 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I would be cautious about that if I were you; the concentration is calibrated for a 1,200 pound animal, not a forty pound one. Why not just buy a Glucosamine/Chronditin tablet that's designed specifically for dogs? It would probably work out to be around the same price per dosage and you wouldn't risk harming your dog. You can find a dog-specific supplement pretty easily, just try your local vet office or Amazon. I had an elderly dog a few years ago who got a daily glucosamine supplement. I seem to remember that it was by prescription from the veterinarian, but i'm guessing you could find something suitable at a pet store as well.
how much is the dosage amount? the bottle says 1-2 tsp/day .. then the website says 1tbs once a day. help

BEST ANSWER: Hi, have you been feeding this product or just starting? If your just starting I would do a loading dose for two weeks to a month depending on your horse and its symptoms. Feed 1tsp in the morning and one at night or 2tsp if you only feed once a day. Do that for two weeks to a month, we might see improvement and you can go off of that. After your loading dose you can probably cut it back to 1tsp a day-depending on your horse. I had a gelding who was only 6 but had been worked hard, he was very stiff! The vet recommended a joint supplement for him so I bought it. She came back a month later and she didn't know it was the same horse!! I was feeding him that supplement that had glucosamine in it twice a day but now I feed it once and he's still good. My advise it to monitor your horse, they will tell you if it's working or not or if you have to increase the dosage(:
