Why did you choose this? Store
My original riding sneakers were another brand and leather and shrunk on my feet. These are waterproof and so comfortable. I love them and cant wait to see how they hold up.

No laces to deal with while riding. I love these boots. So comfy!

My daughter works as a helper at the barn and LOVES Ariat and these are easy in and out, plus waterproof!
MELISSA J on Sep 19, 2015
I wanted a comfortable, easy care, easy on/off boot for riding and barn wear that could also be worn as casual footwear.. this boot had great reviews and fits those requirements.

are they warm?
A shopper on Jan 10, 2016
Best Answer: These boots are great as they are waterproof and do keep my feet warmer than a normal paddock boot would. They also clean up good with a brush. I think the only downside is they are heavier than a regular boot and sometimes my ankles hurt after I wear them all day, but then I'm over 50 and my ankles are not the best after jumping for 30 years. They fit ok in stirrups too and are pretty balanced for riding out.

Can I use half chaps with these boots?
A shopper on Jun 17, 2016
Best Answer: My GUESS is that you can. I haven't worn half chaps in many years - ride in tall boots now - and my memory is that all half chaps are a bit different. So the caveat to my "guess" of yes, is that you simply try the particular half chaps you have. You also could call Ariat direct and find out. Ariat used to have some very cute half chaps, especially for a paddock boot before this one and they were terrible - extremely tight/narrow in the calf (I do NOT have large calves) and difficult to put on their own boot so I kept the boot and returned the half chaps and found others that worked better. This boot is wonderful and comfy and definitely water proof (wash rack use etc. in the summer so I think they are certainly worth the time and $$ investment in finding the right half chap.

I have worn the Ariat Barnyard pull-on for years and will continue to use around the barn, BUT will these Terrains fit the same or should I order up?
Sherry B on Oct 25, 2014
Best Answer: I absolutely LOVE these boots! They just arrived and I have already worn them several time. I am a fan of the H20 Terrain and have been for quite a few years. The zip up version is new to me. The zipper seems very sturdy. Not only is this quick and easy, it also eliminates to need to tie laces and replace them! I am kinda stoked about this new purchase. I love the fact that State Line has periodic sales and breaks on shipping costs, making shopping fun and effective.
Thank YOU, State Line!!!!

Would you recommend these for city walking? I'm going to NYC in Dec. and want something comfortable for lots of walking and possible rain and/or snow.
Deborah M on Jul 30, 2015
Best Answer: I often hike in mine...even though I bought them to ride in. They're great and lightweight too. I love the front zip, easier than lack them up ! Highly recommended.

Does zipper stay up when riding?
A shopper on Feb 21, 2016
Best Answer: The zipper stays where it is zipped, however, not all the way up. I like the other style better because I have a high instep and the zipper does tend to make my feet tired on top (under the zipper). The other style has a zipper on the outer side and another style is lace up. Of the three styles it ranks #3 for me.

Are they good for hiking?
Sarah L on Apr 25, 2016
Best Answer: I guess the answer is yes and no. These are cold weather riding boots and are intended to keep your feet warm and dry while riding. So if you're going somewhere where it's warm, your feet will get hot. I love these boots for winter riding, but they stay in the closet when it gets into the 70s. Also, for me these are a bit heavy to walk in but if I'm going to be going on a short hike in the winter, these are the boots I wear.

concerned about size I wear size 7 in tennis shoes. what size should I order?
A shopper on Dec 1, 2016
Best Answer: They run true to size, so it depends on how you wear your tennis shoes. I have size 6 feet, but I wear a 6-1/2 in tennis shoes as my tennis shoe brand is intended to be worn 1/2 a size bigger (not be confused with my tennis shoe brand running small). I wear size 6 for everything else including these shoes.

can I strap on my spurs with these boots?
A shopper on Oct 21, 2013
Best Answer: Yes, there is a spur guard. Works fine for me.
I love these because they are faster, when I am in a hurry to get out the door. I can also fit my 1/2 chaps over them.

Are these the same fit/width as the lace up version?
A shopper on Apr 25, 2016
Best Answer: Through the foot, yes. But they are tighter over the instep and thtough the ankle.
