Great product - great price
I had purchased 2 different types of tail bags a while back and the Lycra bag is the best!! It is easy to use and stays on quite well. You do have to watch if they get it caught on a bush or in the fence it will rip but otherwise is perfect!

Too small for my Connemara's tail
Need to wrap my horse's tail in summer so it doesn't stick to her belly sweat and "goose" her. Thought this would work but her tail is huge, so I have to braid her tail in 3 separate braids to get it all in the bag. Then I tie the straps to the braid and fasten tied ends with a rubberband so it doesn't fall off. Seems to work but would be better if the sac were bigger.

Excellent tail bag for very thin (Appaloosa type) tails. Wonderful at keeping tail clean and tangle free. Works well for stalled horses, but will not last long during turn out. It snags on trees and fences and tears to smithereens. I use it for horse shows only.

My FORMAY Tail bag
I have had this tail bag for two weeks. I like it, I went for the cheapest option because I had never used a tail bag before. I like this though, They clean up very easily, attach easily, and seem durable. I just have to tighten mine every evening because my little Houdini does what he can to get it off! He rolls all the time and tries to get it off. He's come to except it now though. but he lives in a barbed wire fence pasture and he's yet to tear holes in it *knock on wood*

The Ends Ripped Off All Of The Tailbags
I have Gypsy horses and I ordered this product as I use tail bags in their manes. This product did not wear well. The ends of these bags about 1/3 of the way up ripped off on all the bags.

Good and bad features. Depends on the horse!
I like these tail bags because they are light weight and easy to care for. One mare "takes good care" of hers. The other mare, stands with her rear to the fence, swats her tail, catches it on the fence, and tears the tail bag. Not the products fault, just have one horse that is a little hard on them. However, can't beat the price so I buy lots of them and sew them until I can't sew them anymore!

To keep our horses tail clean and urine stain free. Helps with assisting in long tail growth as well.

I love these tail bags. There is minimal hair loss and they stay in very well. I have found that the ties tend to rip a little, but that is because I try to make them as tight as possible. They are a great product for the price!

I ordered black tail bag, not red, because of the price and favorable reviews. I've never used a tail bag but I have a grey mare with a black and white skunk tail and I want to die it black. Hoping the tail bag will make that process a little easier.

I just needed something to keep the dust out of my horse's tail and to help keep it relatively tangle free. This looks like a great affordable option for a horse that is probably new to this kind of thing.

What is the best way to attach these to the tail?
Denise on Feb 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Loosely French braid the tail starting from the very top. Then place the tail inside the bag pulling the bag up as far as you can. Slip the right end of the tie between the braid and the tailbone and reach it across to the left. Then do the same with the right end of the tie. I tie one regular knot and then a bow. (Make sure that you're only squeezing hair in your knot and not the tail bone!) I double knot my bow for security.
how long is it?

BEST ANSWER: I don't have one inside with me, they are at the barn (at a different location) but I can tell you this.....I tie a not in the end of it before I put the tail up because it stretches in length as days go by. I have gotten ABSOLUTE RAVE reviews for you. I roll the tail up into a roll after its braided and place it in the topside of the tail bag. The extra below the knot they use to swat flies etc. but in doing so they don't swing the braided tail around binding and breaking tail hair off the braid in the bag. I repeated this concept for 2.5 years ( washing, combing, braiding, saturating the tail hair with Pharona arisoll fly spray before putting it up) only once a week and after the 2.5 years I just recently cut off 31 inches and I left 4 to 6 inches dragging the concrete in my hallway. In this period of time I did replace the tail bag every 2 or so months. I kept several on hand at all times for the weekly tail grooming, replacing it with a new one, or a freshly washed one. Sometimes the bag would get caught in the fence and those were the only ones I threw away. I recommend ordering 6 your first time. You will be sooo happy with these bags.
