Product Summary:

Knotted Rope Side Pull Training Halter

The perfect alternative to using reins without a bit. The side pull rope halter allows for training a young horse or enjoying an older horse without the discomfort from using a bit. Four knots across the noseband add pressure where needed for more control. The side pulls should fit snug on either side of the nose. Halter is made from diamond braided rot resistant rope. Side pull rings are nickel plated. Polypropolene.  Average Size.

I'm starting to train a new mare, and want to start with her releasing to pressure from the saddle the way she does on the ground and this seems the perfect bridge for that

Charlene F on Oct 21, 2018
I have a 2 year old Mustang to train, so I will try to see if these pressure points would work. If I like it I will order this for my other horses too.
Alexandra O on Oct 17, 2018
I purchased a fancier bit-less bridle but it had buckles too close to the horses eyes so I decided not to use it, but the reigns it came with were great. I bought this rope halter because there are no buckles or metal on the horses face and I like having the option to clip reigns on the side or put the rope reigns underneath. Great price for something simple, safe and flexible.
Mrs. N on Sep 23, 2018
Reasonable price...had the knots over the nose which I like.
dale j on Aug 1, 2018
Riding in a regular rope halter is annoying when the reins are attached to the lower knot.
Michaela C on Jun 24, 2018
My horse doesn't like the bit, response better going bitless. This is another helpful training tool.

Actually I was shopping for knotted halters cuz my horses always lose their buckle-on halters in the pasture.
These adjust better than the buckle-on halters.
Other people sounded happy w/ these side pull knotted halters so I bought 2 Pink ones!!!! -cp from NH 03576 :))

Laura H on Feb 25, 2015
works great nice colors to choose from
Crystal K on Nov 18, 2014
Love the extra nose knots and the rings for just riding with a halter the one down fall I have found is that the metal piece at the end of the tie rope easily slips off. I bought 5 of these halters and 1 slipped off right away and now only have 2 that still have the metal piece on them. Other wise I LOVE this halter

I am working on training my horse in natural horsemanship, I do a ton of training on rope halters and this is a good transition between ground work and rein work.
Jennifer D on Mar 23, 2014
I got it to use it on easy going mare to ride trails.
Peter N on Mar 22, 2014
I wanted to use this instead of a bit. It is not designed well for optimal control. The rings for the reins are too high I feel.

Does anyone use this while lunging your horse? I was looking for a halter that I can use to lunge in, and then snap reins on for a mounted rider while still keeping a line on the horse. She is 3 years old and just starting under saddle. Thank you.
Karen w on Jul 21, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I don't see why not, if you snap your lunge line on the loop under the chin to lunge. I have never actually used this side pull yet, it is hanging up and a couple times I have grabbed it and used it for a halter when a young one had grown out of her old one . kind of an all around nice kind of thing to have when it is so very reasonable pricewise, you really can't go wrong.
Is this adjustable to the extent of fitting a 14.2 Welsh pony?
A shopper on Sep 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I bought 2 and they are slightly different in size. (Quality control?) Both fit my 13.3 walking pony but the nose band is loose. Lots of excess hanging under the chin. So if your horse drops its head to graze, there is a slight chance that he/she could step though it and get hung up. I haven't had that problem but I can see where it might happen. I found that the rings are a little higher up on the nose than I would prefer.
Will this halter fit a 1.5 year old 13.2 hand horse?
A shopper on Sep 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hard to say. I have a 14 hands horse and it fits her, however I had to add about 6 inches onto the tie strap over her pole to make it fit. It is a little short but fits the face and head well. She rides great in it also. Hope this helps.
why do the knots look so....loose?
A shopper on Nov 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Just wait until your horse pulls back really hard on the halter.. they will become tight.. AND if you have ever tried making a rope halter.. then you know how hard it can be to pull hard enough to tighten them. If you make halters all day long.. then.. fatigue sets in.. just my experience.. these are really good.. especially for the material they are made from.. which could be better.. and cost more i am sure.
What size is this?
Chrystal Y on Sep 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It's closer to a size med in a reg halter. I have a horse that has a large size reg halter and this rope halter fits really snug on him. But fits all my 14 to 15 hand horses.
would this fit a 14.3h draft pony cross? he is small but thick.. thanks
robin b on Jan 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: fits really tight, would suggest a size larger. I have a haflinger mostly on the draft type and he is very thick through the cheek and all that mane over the pole.
why do the knots look so.... loose?
A shopper on Nov 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The only loose knot is the side knot for ease of taking it apart to put it on your horse. I’ve purchased a number of these rope halters and they are easy to use and have lasted a long time. They fit my 14+ hand paint up to my 16.2 hand thoroughbred.
Is this pony size?
Cindy G on Dec 25, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I would say no...it fits a 15.2 QH whIch is who I bought it for
1) will this fit an Arab/cob pls? 2) is it ADJUSTABLE for young Arabs pls?
Sarah M on Feb 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This fits average size horse, 800-1000 lbs.
