Product Summary:

Bite Not Pet Collar

BiteNot Collars are an excellent alternative to the traditional Elizabethan collar. It provides unimpeded peripheral vision and allows your pet to eat, drink, sleep, and play while protecting the back, rump, base of tail, flanks, chest, abdomen, and genitals (even feet in small breeds). These collars are not recommended for protecting eyes or ears.

These collars are made of flexible plastic and foam and are machine-washable helping you easily keep it clean. They are the only cervical restraint with a harness strap, and that means these collars stay on. When choosing size, remember that the collar must stretch from behind the animal's ear to the top of its shoulder for maximum protection.

I have a german sheperd-wondering if the collar will keep him from chewing his hind legs between the ankle and the elbow?

BEST ANSWER: We used the collar on our Samoyed bitch posy TPLO surgery. She could not get to her knee, however we had a lab puppy who broke a roe and she could still get to her splint. It only served as a reminder.
Where does it say how to measure for the BiteNot collar? How does one measure for it?

BEST ANSWER: It's difficult to decide. They don't really give you any information. I finally took all the info I could find and guessed. There's a whole lot of leeway in the fit. I just lent mine to a year old male Lab and I used it on a 7 month old female and it fits both. It's worth trying because, if your dog is wearing a cone, this is the best solution to days or weeks of misery.
