Product Summary:

Avila MI Training Sweet Iron Straight Roller Bit

Roller jointed sweet iron mouthpiece and pinch-free design make this ideal for medium control. This mouthpiece is one of the least severe snaffles. The limited movement in the mouthpiece prevents excess pressure on the outside bars and lips, while the roller applies light pressure to the tongue for a soft feel.

I have one of these bits already and my horse loves it. It is firm but not harsh, the copper roller in the middle gives him something to play with, and he loves the sweetmetal!

What are the mouthpiece rings for?

BEST ANSWER: You can attach your reins to them to eliminate the leverage you get when the reins are attached to the rings at the bottom of the shank.
I have a draft horse and need a bit that will give control both with stopping and bit biting. Any suggestions?

BEST ANSWER: I switched from a Myler bit that my 8 year old paint mare had been using for some time before I bought her to this bit. She took to it immediately with no problems. I found her to be quite responsive to light pressure and think she likes it better too.
