Looks and works great!
I got these for attaching my saddlebags and such. They work fine and look really good, plus they are easy to attach or detach. Definitely recommend these saddle strings!

Good heavy strings
These saddle strings are very heavy and durable. The problem I have is that they are to thick and hard to tie. I would buy thinner strings if I could have felt them before buying them.

How do these attach to saddle?

What color is the leather?

So these aren't a burgundy color, correct? I'm looking for a medium brown, not burgundy. (which burgundy seems to be the only color of saddle strings)

Saddle strings are a medium to dark brown. Goes well with medium to darker leather saddle

How do you loosen conchos to put these in? Am restoring an old saddle. Thanks
BEST ANSWER: Most conchos should have a screw back, so if you just turn the concho it should unscrew and come off. Then just place the clip over the hole and insert the concho and screw it back in.

The conchos on my saddle unscrew, place the strings and then screw the concho back in. Very easy. I would think that conchos on older saddle can be removed the same way.
I would try using a cloth over the concho then carefully use a pliers. Or take it to a saddle shop. They have a cool tool for removing them. Shouldn't be too expensive.
I used the palm of my hand and applied a lot of pressure while turning the conchology. Another thing that might help is a rubber jar grabber.

Yes, just unscrew the concho, put the concho through the metal hole and screw back on.
You unscrew them. You will likely need a small pair of plyers.

BEST ANSWER: The clip has a looped string- two ends to each string. The clip requires a Chicago screw to attach it to your saddle.

Do they come in black?
BEST ANSWER: Hi Judy !! I ordered in brown , I don't know if you can get in black but you could get leather dye , rough them up alittle first then put Fiebling leather dye on which does come in black . Hope this helps !! The Quality of Cashel is awesome and they are butter soft !! You won't find any better Quality!!

As far as I know. No they do not. I know this because when I ordered brown for me my daughter wanted black and they did not come in black. Sorry
Not sure, I have them in brown. But when I got a black saddle had to order them in the brand of my saddle.
Unfortunately these are available in brown only.
