Runs a bit small, overall robust
Love the fleece material, very comfortable with no rubs. The straps are a bit short and holes are by far apart, we were using the last hole for my 20 year old 15 hh quarter horse gelding. Longer straps are an easy fix though.

This product is great.
I have not used this collar for very long, but I am totally happy with it. It is comfortable for my horse and is just what I wanted.
Like the removable fleece for easy cleaning.
Excellent quality, would highly recommend this breast collar.
I really like this breast caller it's very durable, doesn't rub and is so easy to clean . I plan on using state line tack for more often also there prices are awesome

I originally posted a question to this forum RE: if this would fit my 14.2 QH .Encouraged by the many responses I received, I bought it. Wow! Not only does it fit her, but for the first time in 7 years, I feel that my saddle is secure without having to cinch her half to death to keep the saddle from slipping. Was incredibly easy to fit and has improved my riding experience immensely. Plus it makes her look super sharp and has improved her stride -- she seems to like putting her shoulders into it! More than worth the price! I'm so glad I didn't go for something cheaper, and I am very grateful to this forum for all the help.
Does not fit G2 Soft Saddle
Nice looking breast collar. It is priced a little too high. It is too short to be used with the G2 saddle. I plan to return it.
Love this breast collar!
I recently switched my sport from dressage to trail riding. I wanted extra security to help stabilize my saddle on a roly-poly haflinger so I went looking for a breast collar. I liked this one bc it's padded, strudy, easy to clean and seems to fit well (with a wither strap). I don't know yet about its durability, but it looks well made.

Not What I Expected
This breast collar did not fit my horse, not even close! Minimal adjustment capabilities plus no scissor snaps for attaching to D rings. Very stiff and hard to adjust. Bought a nicer all leather breast collar and it works great. Will use this Cashel Nylon breast collar on one of our smaller horses (if we can get it more pliable and not so stiff)
Good trail breast collar
The breast collar itself seems to be well made and fits my horse well. The straps were on wrong and it took some time to rework them. The buckle that hooks to the cinch (between the legs) is so stiff that I had to ask for help from multiple people to unhook it. I am going to take it to a saddle repair shop and have that removed and replaced with a more usable one.
Easy and attractive
This breast collar is easy to use and very attractive. The fleece lining keeps the collar from rubbing hot spots on my mare.

Amazing Brest Collar!
This is a great product! I love it and it works wonders! I like it and it fits my 15 hand great! It does not rub my horse! Overall this is a great product! I suggest it for anybody! It fits my 15 hand palomino wonderffully!!!

I contacted the Cashel Company and was told this breast collar is not meant to be used with the Soft Saddle and that they recommend an endurance breast collar be used with the G2. I bought this breast collar when I bought my soft saddle and tried using it with modification, including replacing the black straps with longer dog collars so that I could attach it lower to the girth rings. It doesn't fit properly either way and is not comfortable for my horse. Currently, the company lists this breast collar as to be used with a Western saddle. Where did Stateline Tack get the information that told them that this item is to be used with the soft saddle?
BEST ANSWER: The company is asking me if the breast collar worked for me...I also had to replace with longer dog collars and that worked for my saddle. I am not sure exactly what my saddle is, Abetta, has soft sides, suede seat, I love it, very comfy ride and the breast collar works with it, after my modifications which I thought were due to my horses long body. Hope this helps

I have the same questions - I ordered mine for treeless saddle and also had to add longer 'pulls' (the shoulder straps) and the lower buckle also looks like it was put on upside down, so it's not what I expected and doesn't appear to have been assembled by anyone familiar with horses or tack.

The information regarding use with a soft saddle is outdated. Thank you for bringing that to our attention! We have double-checked with Cashel and updated our product copy.
It looks like the Staff at Stateline Tack updated the description per their answer on 2/11/15. (I have only used this breastcollar with my western saddle. I love it!)

The picture shows blue WHY? That iswhat we wanted. If you put in black or brown it shows blue.

The horse in the display photo is wearing the black breast collar. The lighting in the photo makes the item appear slightly blue, however, this breast collar is only available in black or brown.

BEST ANSWER: I love this breast collar??I bought my first one over 5 yrs ago and have 2 so I don't have to switch it between my saddles. You can wash these, and line dry or remove the fleece liner and wash them alone. I recently ordered new fleece liners so I can swap them out and wash them when they get sweaty and dirty. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I bought this and have had it over a year. It has held up very well. I love how comfortable it is for our horse. He has high withers and it has really helped keep his saddle in place. I would buy it again and recommend it!
So far I've given it some pretty rough rides and washed it two or three times. I am happy so far!!
It is lasting well for me, riding twice a week.

I have a small Foxtrotter 14 hh would this item adjust to fit a smaller, close to pony size horse?
BEST ANSWER: Probably not? This Cashel is sized for average horses approximately 800-1100 lbs. You may wish to consider a pony size breast collar? For example the Weaver Felt Lined Nylon Pony Breast Collar (item E003995) for ponies 400-600 lbs?

Would this breast collar fit my 14.3 arabian?
BEST ANSWER: My Quarter Horse is 14.3 and it fits him great. My QH might be stockier than your Arabian (although my horse isn't big boned), but I still have plenty of room to adjust it smaller

I would said yes. I purchased one for my 15.1 horse and it was way too small. She is a wide horse and this breast collar would not have begun to fit her!
It should. I purchased it for my 15.2 quarter horse, but it was too small. I had to add extensions for him. Hope that helped :)

BEST ANSWER: Yes, My gelding is about 14.3, had to tie a knot in the strap that connects to the cinch as it was too long. The straps that connect to your saddle have lots of holes for adjustment. I use the breast collar for my bear back pad to keep it from slipping back. Works great! He does not mind it. Had to buy a strap with a clip to put on cince. Can't speak to its effectiveness for a saddle. 'Should' be ok, seems strong enough. GL

Is the hardware on this nylon breast collar stainless steel or just plated?
BEST ANSWER: stainless steel, but I stopped using it in favor of wider breast plate. 3" breastplate with neoprene backing. I did have to add extra holds, but the thinner breatplate was rubbing hair off. I really like the wider breastplate. I believe I bought the 3" at stateline.

I use the second hole (nearly the largest capacity) for my 15 h arabian gelding. There are several holes to make it smaller. It has not chafed his chest and the fleece has washed very well. I have used it since last fall and ride often in an arena during the winter..
I have a 14.3 Quarter Horse and fits him well! I don't have the breast collar on the smallest settings either so it should be able to fit a smaller horse.
You can adjust it quite a bit it would probably fit. It fits my 16 hand quarter horse.
I think it would work in the very last notch on that little guy.

I like the look and comfort of the fleece lined breastplate; I have a Professional's choice girth as well. My question: will this breastplate fit a Percheron?
BEST ANSWER: I don't know how a Percheron is typically built. I use it on a LARGE 1200lb quarter horse, and it's a great fit. I use it on the Cashell trail saddle that my husband rides on him.

I had to extend the 2 saddle attachment straps for my 16h TN Walker. So, not sure about a draft horse. Good quality.
I love this for my Rockies but I don't think it would fit a big horse like a Percheron!

BEST ANSWER: sorry, my inexperience with horse stuff makes me not understand your question. It is exactly as pictured. I had to put a knot in the nylon piece as it was too long for my 14.2 gelding. Also had to buy a strap to connect the breast plate to my bb pad girth. I only use to keep bare back pad from slipping back. Works great. Looks cool which is all that matters anyway....(haha)
