Great price on boots for a barefoot horse to trail ride in.
Jean S on Jan 17, 2018
Currently using them on my horses and mules - they have worked out well for the trail riding that we do. Just needed another pair in a larger size for another horse.

First off, I am not sure why the number 6 is noted - I ordered 4 pr of 2. That being said, I have 2 more pairs I purchased around 4 years ago & they are great! I do barefoot farrier only & when I need more protection, these guys measure up. In the beginning I did have trouble getting the sizing right & had to return twice, but the perseverance was worth it. I call these my mare's Nikes & she noticed immediately, when they were put on, how good they felt when I took her over some rocky footing.
Kristine C on Nov 9, 2015
The boots stay on and have kept my girl comfortable on rocky terrain. I really wish that measuring for size was easier.

I was given a 12 yr old unbroken horse that has been barefoot all her life. She does just fine at home or in the ring. Now that I am riding her, I would like to try boots for when I take her on rocky trails. These boots have good recommendations and sound easy to use.

Well made boot with a fit that works for my horse.
MilosDad on Jul 20, 2014
Cavallo makes good quality boot and is easy to put on. We live in a very rocky area in Tennessee and all the trails are rough on my horse's feet. I've used these boots and even gone through mud pretty deep. No problem for my horse and they cleaned up like new with a water hose.
Sandra B on May 8, 2014
Best boot on market for sore feet. Easily adjustable, long lasting, immediate relief.
KAREN R on Jan 22, 2014
I felt from reading the description that it would be the best option for my horse
who has two coffin bones turned in a very deep curvature now. I'm hoping to give him some relief for now rather than put him down. I hope these help.

Cavallo Simple Regular Sole Hoof Boots
Cavallo Simple Regular Sole Hoof Boots
Cavallo Trek Regular Sole Hoof Boots Pair
Cavallo Trek Regular Sole Hoof Boots Pair
BEST ANSWER: I purchased the Cavallo Trek Regular Sole boots for both of my Tennessee Walkers and am very pleased. After talking with the sales associate, I realized that I didn't want to go through the breaking in stage and opted for the non leather materials. Neither of my horses experienced any rubbing and that was after going through a lake and getting them soaking wet. I have back issues so I am loving the ease of putting them on too! In the past I have used easy boots and renagades and the Cavallos are much easier to put on.
I am seriously thinking of purchasing these boots for my horse. I normally is shod but during the winter he is not. Usually there is a lot of snow for cushion and has no problems. Unfortunately, we are not getting the snow we so need, so my horse is ouchy on the rocks, etc. He just go trimmed and is measuring a 51/2 exactly, which according to the measuring chart it would be a 5. Should I purchase a 6 to accommodate for growth?
Mary M on Feb 8, 2014
BEST ANSWER: These boots are wonderful. I believe that 5 1/2 inches is the upper limit of size 4. You would probably do best to buy the size 5 and also purchase one or two sets of the gel inserts. My horse has two different front feet, and I was advised by Cavallo to use the inserts to slightly tighten the fit on the smaller foot. It worked perfectly, and I was able to adjust the length by removing the pads as his feet grew between trimmings. The boots are easy to put on and remove, and if properly fitted, won't turn or shift even with active turnout. If the boot does shift, it means that it is too large. I also used the Pastern wraps, but they tend to run a bit small and can be difficult to put on correctly. Hope this helps.
how do I measure? I have 3 arab geldings...all same size hooves....
susan nordstrom on Mar 22, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It really pays to take the extra time to pick out a ruler and measure both the toe to heel and the wide part across the bottom of the foot about at the mid point of the frog. I have had to buy several sizes, partly because I have several horses, but also because I have a couple horses with a larger right (or left) hoof! These have been a huge help when my the two horses who have coffin bone issues loose their corrective shoe and would not get turnout unless they have this boot on. I did go to the cavallo website to find their recommendations as to the measurement and size choice. The horses I use them on are TB, a Morgan, and a TB/QH and they have used sizes 2,3, 4. I actually cannot remember the exact measurements of their foot to tell you the measurement and size choice. They stay on well for turnout. I do not ride with them on, but it can be done. ( My farrier says not to use them if there is a shoe on the horse, regardless of if the shoe is only). Bottom line...ruler to measure the foot and go to the website and find their numbers to match the boot of the proper size...the larger measurement being the one to use. I do use a pad on the inside, btw, since my guys need the cushioning for their coffin bones and sole
How do I size?
Jonette M on Nov 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: it is much more simple that the instructions seem. I have used these boots for years on a couple of different horses, for temporary and ongoing hoof issues. Measure the hoof as instructed, from the back bulb to the front middle edge. The boot will not be an exact fit, but 6 seems to be an average size for both my Arab, who has larger than average feet, and the quarter horse I first used these on 10+ years ago, who had small feet, one being a club foot. The velcro will allow you to adjust the size, so more important that the boot is not too tight, as it will run and hurt the horse. If the boot mostly fits, but is a little large, you can add a cavelli sock first which will protec the heel and allow the boot to break in, or add gel padding to the bottom of the boot for cushioning and to keep the foot from slipping around. Hope this helps. The Cavelli boots definately fit the best, and I tried several other brand on that quarter horse. He wore 1 boot on the club foot until he died (I took off at night for a break,) and it made his life immeasurably better as his hoof wall could not hold a shoe, and the upright shape of his hoof did not fit other boots without damage to his skin above. He was a rescue and this was all new to me back then.
do these come as a pair or are you ordering on?
krystal` y on Nov 28, 2014
BEST ANSWER: They are sold as pairs.
My horse had soft hoofs and thin sols so I need pads on my horse and after the first shoeing his hoof's are week because of the nails all I do is trail ride, though, water mud, hills all kinds of trails not sure what kind of question to ask? I know he would need a pair that has a pad and how well would they stay on for what I do Help please
Kathy S on Mar 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I have used these boots for about a year, in both wet, dry, and muddy (clay type muddy) conditions. They have worked wonderfully. The worst that happened is the outer Velcro straps came loose due to mud build-up but the boots never got loose or came off. The gel inserts for these are very cheap (cost-wise) and have worked and held up well. I also purchased the pastern wraps that weren't too bad, but in the wet muddy environment they didn't stay down; my horse has very small feet and it is likely I didn't get them on snug enough. The boots have held up well, clean out nicely, and will the hole at the base, they don't fill up with mud, muck, water, etc. I am in Western WA and we have very wet/muddy trails until late summer; the boots have done very good and I would recommend them to anyone. I would suggest printing the size/measure chart for your horse. If you are in-between sizes, go with the bigger size (especially if you are feeling the need for the gel inserts). These boots are not meant to fit tight (like the EZ Boots) Also, the Simple Boots are for the round feet, if your horse has a longer length than width (oval foot) you may want to go with the sport model.
can you ride in them?
A shopper on Jun 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Absolutely. I have only ridden in them, in fact, my farrier suggested that I not leave them on her between rides so that the hoof could breath. I've put them on all 4's and ridden all over Uwharrie, which is quite hilly and rocky. Plenty of WTC. A little clunky for the canter but still no problem.
Will these boots work for a Laminitic pony with sore soles? I’m looking for a couple pairs of hoof boots that are of good quality and durability, and won’t break the bank.
A shopper on Aug 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: My paint mare weighs 1200 lbs is not laminitic but she easily gets sore soles and tip toes on the trails due to tenderness. After two trail rides with the slim trek boot she was jogging down the trails and splashing through water no problem. Easy to use and relieves her soreness. She loves them. Just be sure to measure accurately after a trim to get the right fit. I had to return my first pair because I measured wrong and they were too big.
How long do these boots last before they wear out?
A shopper on Sep 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I bought my original ones about 8 years ago & still use them! Granted, I don't use them every day, but when I go on rugged trail rides that include rocks, water, mud, etc, they have never failed me, meaning come loose or cause sores on her fetlocks. I do not use anything else when I use them, like some of those little "socks" that are sold to go on before the boots. I love these boots so much, I actually have 6 pairs...I moved to the country of Panama & didn't know how difficult it may be to get more, so I am pretty sure I have a "lifetime" supply! One note, I generally only use them on my mare's front feet, but on those tough rides, boot all four feet.
Title says "boots". I am assuming that if I order this I will get 2, right?
Kate K on Dec 1, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, they are sold in pairs. Be sure to measure very carefully - I had to send my first pair back because they were too large. They are great boots!
do you have sizes bigger then 4 ?
karen c on Feb 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I only have two sizes 3 and 4. The larger is for hoof dressings or poultices if needed.
Are these boots waterproof? or water resistant?
Wendi E on Sep 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thread is waterproof. I would say the leather upper is durable and water resistant. This product cant be considered waterproof because it is open to the elements. I would care for these as any leather product. My horse wore them most of winter and they still are protective. Of course they are worn but still do the job holding up to constant moisture when used in the winter. Enjoy!
are these boots good for a horse that has sore feet?
Caesar on May 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, but make sure that they fit your horse. Cavalllo boots are very round in shape. I had better luck with the Easyboots; they fit the shape of my horses hooves much better and you can buy them individually.
What size is equal to a double 00?
A shopper on Jun 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Dexpends if ur "00" is ur horses foot or the size of the here is w b at I know. There is a sizing chart on the Cavallo website. Also, if ur horses foot is as wide as it is long , the boots may need to go up a size.. I have that problem with my Arab so I had my farrier cut me leather insoles so as to snug the roomier size up, then when my horses foot starts to grow out between trims, I can remove the iN sole to accommodate that extra growth.. my Arab is a 900 lb. horse and is just barely 14.2H tall. In iron shoes he takes an "0" in front but I use a size "1" in the boot cause of the shape of his foot then add the insole when needed. Works very well. I do NOT use these style boots on the back feet though as the height of the boot when worn on rears causes blisters on backside of the pasturns everytime. I use a different brand shoes on rear feet.
Do you ship to Alberta Canada? If so how much? And how soon do you deliver?
Kristina M on Nov 13, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this item is available for shipment to Canada. You would need to add it to your cart and begin the checkout process to find out the shipping cost. The system would be able to calculate that based on your exact delivery address.
Do you have these in size 2 and is the 25% off on these boots?
A shopper on Aug 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this boot is available in a size 2. Unfortunately, the 25% off discount does not apply to this boot as it is restricted from additional discounts per manufacturer guidelines.
I live in Arizona with sandy, rocky and mountainous terrain, is the Trek best for this type of terrain or the Cavallo Simple boot a better option?
