Product Summary:

Cavallo Trek Slim Sole Hoof Boot

Trekking through the trails? Be sure your horse is wearing Trek boots, Cavallo's top-of-the-line hoof boot for the total comfort and protection of barefoot horses as an alternative to metal shoes. They are lightweight, multi-purpose and all-terrain with a breathable Pro Mesh upper, and also great for replacing a lost metal shoe, rehab, or odd sized hooves. The Trek Slim tread pattern supports the frog and provides natural heel (skid) brake. The sole width is 1/4" narrower than the sole length, and may provide a better fit for narrower hooves.

Sold individually. See measuring and sizing info at right.

Features:

  • Fits left or right hooves
  • Pull tabs for easy on
  • Patented replaceable Velcro® closure system
  • Patented flexible Pro Mesh molded TPU upper for high performance tear strength and abrasion resistance
  • Honeycomb upper design optimizes strength and minimizes weight

I use Cavallo boots on my two other horses, but this mare needed a slimmer boot. I tried it on her and it fits perfectly. It's a great alternative to front shoes when I'm not able to ride a lot.

Heard many people talk about how good they are so we finally decided to try them out. Farrier's are getting harder to get to come to the farm, plus we have 12 horses and it can get expensive. If the boots workout, we will save money over time.

Thank you.

is this price for a pair of boots or just a single boot. what would it cost in postage to Australia Qld 4518 ?
sue o on Sep 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Pricing is per individual boot. For information about shipping outside the USA, during checkout please click on "Click here to ship internationally" under the Country line in the Billing and Shipping section.
My horse is barefoot. I recently took him on a trail ride and he got wounds on the bulbs of his hind legs. Would these be helpful, and would I need extra pads or accessories?
A shopper on Sep 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Absolutely. The Specially formulated high performance thermo plastic urethane (TPU) compound provides total hoof protection, shock absorption and abrasion resistance. They also have built-in sole relief: Integrated high density inner rim supports load-bearing hoof wall, relieving minimum pressure off sole, bars and frog.
Is this price per boot or for a pair?
A shopper on Oct 13, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hello, the price is per boot.
I'm considering switching from shoes to boots. Is it best to have these boots on all 4 hooves or are they generally only on the front?
Cyndi T on Jul 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Fronts definitely! Then depending on the terrain - how much and what sized rocks you’ll be riding on - you should consider back boots. If I am riding around home, then fronts are sufficient. If I’m riding in Shawnee National Forest then boots all around is a must. I always have hind boots with me. If you had to shoe your horse all around, then boots all around. If you could get by with shoes only on the fronts, then you could get by 90% of the time.
Can boots be used on shod horses?
A shopper on Sep 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They can but the shoes will tear up the boots fairly quickly I would imagine. I LOVE these boots for my unshod horse (I have never owned a shod horse -I immediately remove any shoes). These boots saved one of my horse's life. My friend and I were riding fast and we hit glass/debri very unexpectedly. My friend's shod horse got his frog torn off and a very bad infection from impenetrate glass (he almost died). My horse was fine since the boots protected her whole foot. I would never be without them...ever. They protect the entire hoof from any debri, etc.. I go swimming in the lakes/rivers with her in the boots too. Love 'em!
How do I mesure for horse hoof boots?
diane b on Mar 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The Cavallo web site has directions on how to measure. Be cautious about using a print out of their measuring chart - it can get distorted. Use a ruler.
do any boots come in a zero size?
Ruth L on Sep 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The brand easy care, does have sizing in the zero range.
do you have a size 4 in the cavallo trek boot slim sole?
Harriet J on Feb 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I apologize at this time we do not.
Can I use these boots over shoes? It would be 2-3 hours 3-4 days a week. My barn manager suggested I try these as my horse has 4 shoes and I work with people and other horses. He thought this may "soften blow" if he kicks.
Diane M on Feb 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They can be, however Cavallo cannot guarantee that the boots will hold up over prolonged use, to the force of metal, protruding nails or sharp edges and thus the warranty is void with this usage.
