Classic Equine Legacy SMB Boots

Classic Equine Legacy Boots are made of 100% virgin perforated neoprene that allows the leg to breathe and heat to escape so your horses legs stay cooler. They have a round cut box-stitched hook-and-loop attachment with an aggressive hook-and-loop closure makes the Legacy more secure.

Its shock absorbing splint pad gives maximum protection to the splint bone, tendons, and other soft tissues. The new, more refined splint pad guards against crossfire injuries and allows for a closer, cleaner fit.

The boot's suspensory rib is positioned between the tendon and the cannon bone to ensure proper boot alignment.

The boots are built with a patented Cradle Fetlock System that provides maximum support and protection to the lower limb by a double layer of shock absorbing neoprene.

An extended layer of tough, bulletproof material fitted on the cup area ensures durability as well as a series of fitting darts provides for a clean, close fit.

Bound edges help keep dirt and debris out.

Sold in pairs.

how do you know what size to buy? you don't have any measurements up
susan L on Feb 8, 2014
Best Answer: Further down the page, in the Product Summary, is the sizing information, under Downloadable Resources. It tells you how to measure and what sizes correspond to the measurements. I still ended up returning one set and getting the size larger than it suggested.

How do you know what size to get? Where do you measure?
A shopper on Aug 23, 2013
Best Answer: Measure the diameter of the FRONT leg at the cannon bone, mid-way between the knee and the fetlock.

MEASUREMENT CHART
Small 7-1/4” - 7-3/4”

Also if you have never used them before be sure to review the how to put them on guide on classic equine's web site under "Legacy Application Instructions".

Can they've washed if so how?
A shopper on Apr 5, 2016
Best Answer: I usually put a pressure nozzle on a hose and wash mine off after every use. If you are going to put them in a washing machine I wouldn't use detergent.

Does the white stain easily? My horse has 4 white stockings, so I'm torn on what color to get.
A shopper on Feb 10, 2016
Best Answer: They do stain but not easily. You will get a lot of use out of them before you need a new show set. We wash them off after every weekend event and use our old ones for training. Nothing looks sharper in the ring than white. Enjoy!

Do these boots soak up water? There are lots of rivers here, I don't want a sport boot that holds water.
Candy on Aug 18, 2014
Best Answer: They do absorb a small amount of moisture and dry quickly They are not water repellant and if you wash them they will drip for a short bit when you hang to dry. I have used when wading in creek. It's hot where I live so I like that boots have fine perforations so there is less heat held on tendons. They have always stayed soft and flexible. My only concern and this applies to all brands of sport boots I have used is that Velcro tabs can tear where opposite hoof clips on inside if leg. The boots do a good job of protecting my narrow chested horse Hope this helps

Is this a set of two or a set of four?
A shopper on Mar 14, 2017
Best Answer: The FRT in description means front (set of 2). You will also need a hind set if you want all four in boots. Best Wishes!

are these machine washable? I like the white, but am worried about cleaning them. Will they stay white with machine wash? I am not familiar with this type of material, or should I order a darker color to avoid stains.
A shopper on Jun 10, 2015
Best Answer: Classic Equine advises us that they do not recommend machine washing - it will erode the "stickability" of the hook and loop closures material.
Instead please hand wash with mild soap in cold water, rinse well, and allow to air dry.
