What is the difference between a pro tech boot and a splint boot?
I am looking at the boots that go on the front legs.
I am getting the medium size.
Teresa T on Dec 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi Teresa - I like the pro-tech boot better than a standard splint. Pro-techs have more support and protection. A splint will protect the inside of the front legs, where the pro-tech protects not only the inside of the front legs but the backside also. This can help if you have a horse who may hit the backside of the front leg with the hind hoof. I show reiners and cowhorses and due to the type of intense training we do, I like something with a little more protection. For trail riding or easy arena work, you may be happy with a basic splint. Hope this helps, Traci
