My horse has a summer sore on his fetlock, flies have been a big issue this summer and a friend recommended this product to me. Anything to cut down on the flies becauseto topical fly spray and traps just aren't cutting it.
Amelia H on Aug 12, 2018
I have used these kits before, and they make a difference.
Sue T on Aug 6, 2018
This keeps my barn free of flys and mosquitos. Very important in these days of airborne diseases.
Susan G on Jul 22, 2018
This fly season is more severe than most years. I have 3 fly control automatic fly sprayers but this year one of them failed, so am replacing as I find 3 is the magic number for our 3-sided barn with oversized stalls.

Recommended by friend, perfect for my needs!
david c on May 20, 2018
Great little solution, we've used them for years and years. If you don't need a huge spay system this is an excellent choice and the cost per month for a few horses is quite good. We've found each can lasts about a month.

This product works very good. When the flies are bad you can always find the horses in the barn stalls where this keeps the flies to a minimun.

I needed something in my horses' stalls that would work 24/7. This system fits that requirement.
Barbara K on Jul 2, 2016
We've used CV dispensers in between each of our stalls for several summers to help control the flies. The Arizona heat has dried out one of our dispensers so it isn't staying closed. Time to replace it.
Carolyn P on Jul 1, 2016
great price

Grace Z on Jun 7, 2016
These sprayers work great. I have one in each of my horse stall and in my isle way. These keep my barn pretty much bug free all summer and my horses can relax in their stall without being Bugged (hehehe!) by the bugs.

Stephen S on Dec 3, 2018
Can this be used safely on a covered- but open porch? I've used the mosquito one & it was very safe.....even with kids & food around
A shopper on Mar 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Absolutely! We use it on this type of porch--hasn't hurt our cat or us!!
We do watch where we have the unit set up since it can affect us depending on the wind.

Overall a great product-we plan to continue using it!!
Where would you install this? I have a large paddock with three horses in it. They hang out mostly where I feed them, would you want pesticides spraying on their eating area? Does it need power ? Does it have to be out of their reach ?
Laurie H on Mar 9, 2015
It runs off batteries, it would likely have to be out of there reach or someone might try to eat it and break it. I don't think it would work well outside open to breezes, I also wouldn't want to spray pesticides on your horses food or even in a stall since it has to be at 7 ft high and would get their eyes. I have it in my barn aisle by the cross ties and they are good by entrances too to help keep bugs out. Unfortunately I have yet to find any system that will make your life pest free but this along with other things is helpful.
Is this product safe to use indoors?
A shopper on Jul 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have one in my sunroom where I keep food and water for my cats and is an area where my cats frequent. i have had no issues. Would just make sure the area is well ventilated and spray directed away from food/water.
I do not think I would want this in a main living area because of the odor.
Can this be used with my horse in the stall?
A shopper on Jun 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't have a horse or a stall-we do have a cat, and us, that hangs around the Kit--doesn't seem to bother him, or us!!

It's very effective for our mosquito control--not sure about the "2015" flies right now, but would hate to know how bad it could be without the Kit!!
Can you just buy the spray without the dispenser? I already have several of them.
A shopper on May 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can buy the spray by itself. There are a couple different strengths of spray and even some that are just scented sprays, not bug control.
What is the difference between the 3000 and 9000 settings?
A shopper on Jul 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I thought it referred to number of shots in can and I wanted more spray so I use the 3000 :) Hope this helps I love mine or rather Cheyenne does and this one is the second one we wore the first one out :) I have an open sided stall not a closed one :)
Can I use it in a open paddock?
A shopper on May 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: If the wind isn't blowing, in a limited area, it will work. If the wind is blowing, then the bugs are not out as much, so I'd say yes. i use it in a small barn which has open doors and it works great. I've used it at my home also, by outside doors, to keep mosquitos away, and it works well.
how does it hang up and how far does it spray?
Karen D on Jul 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: There is a hole in the back of the dispenser. I used a nail or screw to hang them about 10 feet off the ground. I put one in each stall and placed it so that it would not spray directly on the feed and hay area. The spay is a fine mist and I'm not sure how far it sprays. My barn has a breezeway down the middle and the 2 stalls are on the same side. The wall between the stalls is only solid up about 4 feet with a wire panel the rest of the way up. 2 dispensers were enough to work well to keep the flies and mosquitoes at bay. I have also used one in a 3 sided shed and that worked pretty good too. I have used these for about 15 years. My first set lasted for about 10 years.
how far out in yard it works from the house?
krupa t on May 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I do not use these sprayers around the house. I use in my barn. I have one in each stall. The stall windows are closed, but the stall windows on the other side of the barn are all open. It still keeps the flies away for the most part. This is my 2nd set of battery operated fly sprayers. The others lasted about 10 years.
I have a 36'X60' barn with 9 stalls. How many of these would I need and should they be above the stalls or down the center aisle?
dawna r on Feb 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Dawna, My barn is smaller 36 x 36 with six stalls, but only three horses. I use three at the front door, one at the rear door and one in the center aisle. I don't use them in the stalls because, I put fans on the horses when its hot and it would just blow the mist out of the stall and I don't want insecticide always going off in their stalls. In the stalls I use fly strips. The sprayers are also moveable, so to be placed where you think they'd be most effective. Kathy
How long do they last?
Barbara C on May 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have 5 in my barn, they last about a month and a half, i love mine and the fly issue is pretty much gone for me, i live in Texas and we have many, but these help so much
Does this have an on/off switch? This is for a back patio and BBQ'ing area where it will only be used when people are in the area.
Alan C on Jun 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It doesn't have a switch. You would probably want to disconnect it then when not in use.
can it be mounted sideways?
A shopper on Aug 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: yes, i have 3 mounted in the stall, up high so my horse can not reach it, 3 are mounted in the breezeway of my barn, love these
Does it kill fleas?
A shopper on Aug 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: My horses do not get fleas so i can't answer that question. And as for the rest of my animals I use flea product to prevent a flea infestation. I do know it keeps the flys at bay in the barn.
Does the fly and mosquito spray leave residue on the floor or nearby surfaces? Is there risk of damage to painted or plastic surfaces, esp car paint?
Sam D on Jun 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have never noticed any residue except a small amount on the actual machine. I have never had it in my garage but it is such a fine mist into the air I wouldn't imagine it would. I have mine mounted at the side of my doors entering my home under a small awning above the doors. This is the 3rd year I have used the machine and I can say I don't think Ill ever be without them. They work Great!!
We have a lot of spiders as well, does this work on spiders?
Michele S on Nov 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I doubt it.. It doesn't say it does so I would not buy it for spiders.. just get some spray and do it yourself
Does this work on moths?
A shopper on Jul 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No idea. Moths are not a problem on my porch but it works great on mosquitos. My guess is it would be effective against moths. Use the mosquito spray not the fly spray.
not dangerous to humans or pets ?
A shopper on Sep 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have used these battery operated sprayers in the stall areas and also in a loafing shed for years. I haven't had any problems with them. I always put the sprayers up high and make sure that they do not spray towards the hay/feed part of the stall.
Will product contaminate feed?
Stan B on May 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No, it does not contaminate food, for over 10 year's I have used one in a room next to my kitchen, never a problem. The insect's it control's would be much more to contaminate food.I recommend it king farms.
what is coverage area?
Linda W on Feb 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have a 24 X 36 garage that is attached to my house. Before I had the fly kit the flies would come into my house every time we opened the door. Since using Country Vet in the garage, Flies are no longer a problem. I also have one in my basement with room freshner to keep my basement smelling fresh.
is it water proof?
A shopper on Jun 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have 3 units outside but they are located under a small covered area by my doors .I leave them outside all year and they have never failed to work when I put in new refills each summer. I cannot say whether they would be completely waterproof.
Can this be used in chicken and duck coops?
A shopper on Jun 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have used it with no problems. You can not use it with the dispenser if you tend to have a dusty coop.
I have bought some but they stop working after a while and I cant find out how to get them repaired or replaced under warranty?
A shopper on May 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: We would suggest contacting Country Vet directly, their phone number is 1-(800)-330-7022.
