Product Summary:

EasyCare New Easyboot Glove Back Country Boot
The New Easyboot Glove Back Country Boot features a soft, thick comfort cup gaitor to support the soft tissue area.  The front shield offers a sleeker fit.  This comes standard with a removable rear Snug Strap that assures security in wet or muddy conditions.  The modifications allow this boot to be used for both pleasure riding as well as a performance boot.  This is an ideal boot for medium to high mileage of 25-50 miles per week.  It is also an ideal replacement boot for a lost shoe.  Please see the Size Chart and Application Guide.  Take measurements following a trim.  Correct sizing is imperative for the successful use of these boots.  The Easyboot Back Country sizing is not comparable to steel shoe sizes.  The Back Country sizing allows for natural hoof growth throughout a six week trim cycle.  Measuring the hoof after the horse is freshly shod is recommended if boot is being worn over steel shoes.  Can be worn on the right or the left hoof.  The Snug Strap can be switched so that both pull rings are on the inside, giving you a left and a right boot.  Please allow the horse time to adjust to wearing these boots.  Conservative riding is best for the first time your horse is fitted with these.  Gradually increase duration and distance to allow your horse to become accustomed.  Not allowing time to break in the boots can lead to chafing.  Sold individually.
  • Can be used for pleasure riding and as a performance boot

We have other easy boots, the quality is very good and they last a long time.
Barba O on Dec 9, 2018
Have used them in the past and had success.
Lisa K on Nov 8, 2018
Easycare boots are the best on the market, I usually get anywhere from 2-3 years per boot, so it is a given to replace them with the same.
Terry A on Oct 23, 2018
Love these boots. Easy to get on and off, will never come off while you are riding, they don't twist on the hoof and they don't rub your horse's heal raw like other boots I have owned in the past.
CYNTHIA P on Oct 7, 2018
I like the reviews on this boot and durability. I am concerned about sizing just because my horse did not match up perfectly on the sizing chart.
Kathy P on Aug 21, 2018
We have the Easy Boot Trail, which are worn out after 5 years. We also wanted something that wouldn't come off at a canter.

My friend has these and they stay on really well.

My horse tore his hooves up. My farrier thought these might work.
Cheryl K on Oct 6, 2017
Because I've been trying to purchase this boot. It is hard to find. The quality of this boot is excellent. I purchased from another vendor only to receive one boot and refunded my money for the second boot because of being unable to fill the order. I needed to find a second. I hope you guys do not have the same problem. I am fearful that you might since the EasyCare company seems to be having troubles keeping up with orders. Thanks.

to try out - pretty easy to get on - watch video - good quality and seems durable

How long can you leave these boots? Do you have to take them off every day at the end of ride?
Judy O on Apr 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it makes sense to take the boots off at the end of a ride because the hoof needs to "breathe" or you might set up situation for a possible infection, etc. However, that being said, my horse had several abscesses in one hoof which needed to be drained by the vet. After the hoof was all cleaned out we put the boots on to protect the hoof from getting re-infected because we has a lot of mud in our area at the time. In fact, my vet was thrilled to see these boots & he put them on both front hooves. We put them on both front hooves to make sure he could walk evenly (even tho only one hoof had abscessed). We left the boots on for 6-7 days & when we took them off, the hooves were okay. So, there is the exception. Overall, tho, best to take them off after a ride.
Are they sold in pairs or individually?
Annemieke d on Jan 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: They are sold individually. I have a pair of them for each of our horses for their front feet and I love them. I have used them for long rides over very rocky terrain and our horses have no discomfort wearing them or at the end of the day. They stay on and are relatively easy to get on.
why is there a "material choice" of regular or wide on the order form? Wide and Regular do not sound like materials.
John G on Jul 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You are correct. Wide and Regular are just size choices.
Do they have drain holes in them for water drainage?
Deborah K on Mar 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: They do not have drain holes. But they are not solid all the way up. There are gaps above the sole. However the hoof will not drain well if you are in alot of water. That said I otherwise love these boots. Very well made and very secure fit. Not bulky like some others.
Do these boots have any protective sole barring for laminits or horses who have foundered in the past? i use my own gel pads and wanted to use them in these boots. Also, what does each boot weigh?
Winterwarlock2 on Mar 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The boots are very light weighted say maybe 1 lb. also I believe it comes with a firm foam pad or they can be ordered separately if needed.
Does anyone use these boots only in front or do you have to use 4 to keep balance? My horse is happily barefoot (always been) and has gorgeous feet but noticed he can get tender in front on rougher trail terrain.
Lynn M on Oct 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, we both use the boots only on the front since that's where most of the horse's weight is. We ride mostly in western NC where the ground can be hard and rocky. Never noticed any balance issues. We use Keratex hoof hardener on the hinds. On more intensive rides I like to put large bell boots on front over the easycare boots to help eliminate overreach interference that can pull a boot off and it helps keep the velcro together. We also like to treat the hooves with disinfectant (as needed) before putting on the boots so it has a good chance to work in and stay on for the duration of the ride.
My horse measurements is 41/4 length and 41/2 width what size boot would she need?
Peggy W on Oct 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Please measure the hooves in milimeters. EasyCare recommends NOT accurate to convert inches into mm.
Stand each hoof on non-corrugated cardboard and trace closely around it. That way you will include all of the weight-bearing surface.
And here is a direct link to the size chart from the product description:
My horse's feet are 5 1/4x 5 1/4 inches which size would you recommend?
Angela W on May 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Proper fit is critically important with these boots. My meticulous measurements turned out to be way off when the boots came and my natural hoof care specialist helped me find the correct size. My best advice is to get the fit kit based around your best sizing estimate (using info from their web site). This model boot seems snugger than the glove - and I'm thrilled with their performance.
Does it come with 2?
A shopper on May 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: NO, these boots are sold individually. That works for me because my horse has two different size feet :)
Since these boots do not come marked right or left, should the back strap be switched on one of them so when you tighten that back strap it pulls toward the outside or does it matter?
Muriel or Rex on Jan 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: IMHO, it doesn't matter and I never switch them - one less thing to obsess over. Just get the straps as tight as you can.
My horse has navicular problems. Does this have padding or enough heel to give him comfort on the trail?
Heidi C on Dec 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I believe you can get a pad insert. The best thing to do is to directly call the easy care boot company and ask them.
What is the difference in width between the wide and regular sizes? The sizing chart supplied doesn't say.

Do these come as a pair of is this priced per boot?
Elizabeth F on Nov 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: These boots are priced individually. That comes in handy if your horse happens to have a size discrepancy in their hoof size. They also offer a wide width if your horse needs that too.
my horse has a 110mm width & a 135 length, what size do I order with these measurement sizes?

Do these come as a pair?
A shopper on Aug 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No,I made the mistake of thinking they did come in a pair but they do not. If you measure the hoof as described on the easy care website pictures, then call easy care they will recommend which size and style to buy based on the measurements and use of the boots. That saved me reshipping and reordering for sure.
