Product Summary:

Ideal for the barefoot horse or for a horse that is difficult to keep booted. The attached gaiter provides extra protection to the hoof. Also helps keep the boot on during extreme conditions.

Using Easyboots® is a natural way to provide hoof protection, traction, treatment, cushioning and correction while allowing the horse to go barefoot at all other times. They fit snugly to the hoof, are lighter and last many times longer than standard steel plates. Properly fitted, they stay on as well as nailed-on shoes with an important advantage if an Easyboot is pulled off, the rider can put it right back on.

Sold individually.

Easyboot Sizing:
All Easyboot sizing has changed! You MUST re-measure your horse's feet and compare to the size chart below to insure a proper fit!

How to get the correct size boot for your horse:
(1) Measure the width of the hoof across the bottom at the widest point.
(2) Measure the length of the hoof from the toe to the buttress line of the heel. The buttress line is the farthest weight bearing point of the heel.
(3) Compare your measurement with the proper size chart below.
(4) Ideally, the width and length measurement will fit into the same Easyboot Epic™ size. If the width and length measurements indicate different Easyboot Epic sizes, select the larger Easyboot Epic size. If the width and length measurements are different by more than one size, EasyCare hoof boots are not recommended.

Have used these for years!
I’ve used easy boot epics for years on several horses. They are harder to put on/get off than other brands, but they are less bulky which works better as I have one horse who tends to stumble due to navicular and does better with easy boots. I get a lot of miles out of them too without any major breakage of the materials.

GREAT PRODUCT!!
Love these boots, got them for a rescue mare with hoof issues, they have solved all our problems with this mare. We have been through some extremely rough terrain and haven’t had any issues.

great product
great boot for any work out or rides if you dont want to put premanant shoes on them. Take these off after your ride and you have a healthy barefoot horse again.

Highly recommend, trail rode in deep mud, stayed on.
I was looking for a boot that I could use trail riding when my horse loses a shoe. An hour before leaving on a 4 day horsecamping trip, he lost a shoe. I was prepared, just receiving my easyboot epic a few days earlier. Rode thru some deep mud, over the boot mud, and it stayed on with no problems. Highly impressed and so we're my friends I was riding with. Will probably get a pair for my other horse instead of shoeing him since he doesn't get ridden that often. Would recommend them to anyone wanting a good trail boot.

Best hoof boots for performance riding
I have tried several hoof boots and found the Easy Boot Epic to be the best for riding both performance and trail. The cables are easy to adjust with a hoof pick, and the gators help keep the boot on the horse, as well as eliminate chafing.

Great boots!
Love to keep my horses barefoot. These boots are wonderful when we ride in areas that require shoes. Easy to put on and pull off, but stay on well during the ride!

Slipper
There is hardly any back to these. Strap under heel why! Pull this up with another piece that comes out. These are very over price. A pair of riding boots is cheaper than pair of these. Real boots have a lot more material in them. I don't get why they are so high. Wanted a boot not slipper to go over the toe. Most of what this company sell looks like low top shoes. Which is what I bought but not from this over priced place. I'm done with them.

Poor Performance on Trails
I've used Easycare hoof boots since 2000. The Epic improves prior models, but is made with a cheap gaiter and cable, both of which require regular replacement. When used on rough trails, they will fail and you can not count on them to stay on. I just lost one on a trail ride when the gaiter completely ripped off and I didn't know it. My horses have been barefoot for years, are ridden barefoot regularly, and have excellent hoof shape. The boots fit perfectly and I only hand tighten the buckles. Easycare even after so many years, has failed to make a boot that can be used reliably in the Rocky Mountains.

Boot came apart within 7 days of normal use
Purchased the boot for a hoof that lost hoof wall that could not hold a shoe. Used the boot 7 days under normal conditions . Turned mare out in it one time in a small run and gator ripped off boot and boot was lost . No rocks , no rough country , no concrete, just soft ground abd bout did not hold up to normal use . Now all I have is a useless gator . A replacement would be nice ..... Just saying .

great boots
I have used these for a couple weeks now and love them. They are a little hard to get on and off at first but got easier, though I do reccomend a screwdriver or heavy duty hoof pick to pop up the clasp after a ride. The gaiters work great and I haven't had any issues at all through on and off road trail rides, in arena work and a little polo cross.

Came back to the Epic after trying other boots. These can be a pain to use but offer the best protection without letting lots of debris get in from the top, as in the Cavallo below.

I needed another pair for the back feet. Fortunately the front and back sizes are the same. These are great boots and they fit my draft mare well.

BEST ANSWER: The best person to ask this question to would either be a vet or your farrier; but my favorite hoof boot so far are the cavallo boots because they are easy to get on/off and they allow the hoof to breath and move normally. There are open slots above the sole to let debris and water out. The different brands of boots also have a different fit, and with the Cavallo, there is a different fit for different models, their regular sole is round where the slim sole is a 1/4" narrower on the sides than the length.

Do these use a key?
A shopper on Aug 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Not sure what you mean by a key.

But theses have a latch that pops up or pushes down to lock in to place. I carry a hoof pick with me and use it for easy leverage to pop the latch up if it is ever hard to pop up with my fingers. I also use my hoof pick to easily switch the wires around to the different positions if needed. If I remember correctly, the latch has about 3 groves in it to tighten the boot to the correct fit.

My favorite boot is the easy boot epic with the gator that velcroes around there pastern. I have never lost a boot with a gator. They fit all of my horses well and do not rub sores. Even after riding all day or for several days in a row.

Hope this helps :)
Happy Trails
How do you measure for the easyboot epic?
A shopper on Aug 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The easiest way to get accurate measurements of the weight-bearing surface is to stand the horse on heavy paper on non-corrugated cardboard and trace closely around the hoof. Here are EasyCare's instructions:

How to get the correct size boot for your horse:

(2) Measure the length of the hoof from the toe to the buttress line of the heel. The buttress line is the farthest weight bearing point of the heel.

Are the gaitors removable?
Rowdy R on May 7, 2015
