Product Summary:

The Easyboot® is the natural way to protect, treat, cushion and correct hooves and still allow the horse to go barefoot at all other times. The boot is made with durable urethane that fits snugly to the hoof and provides traction, but is lighter and longer lasting than a steel plate. When properly fitted, the Easyboot stays on as well as a traditional horseshoe.
Easyboots are sold individually.

• Longer-lasting than steel shoes
• Easy to put on and remove
• Can be worn in place of or over steel shoes
• Portable and prevents lameness if a shoe is lost far from home
• Ideal for horses with hoof-related medical problems
Correct sizing is important so please measure carefully.
How to measure for Easyboots:
1. After a fresh trim, measure the width of the hoof across the bottom at the widest point.
2. Measure the length of the hoof from the toe to the buttress line of the heel. Do not include the heel bulbs in your measurement.
3. Compare your measurements with the sizing chart. For an ideal fit, the length and width measurements should fall under the same size on the chart.

Great Easy Boots
I have used Easy Boots for horses with mild founder, they let the horse be ridden until their hooves recover. I have also used them for horses that are only ridden lightly, instead of regular metal shoes, so the horse can remain barefoot. Don

saved me when my horse could not be shod
I operate a carriage business with draft horses. One day my ferrier told me he could not shoe my Percheron because his hoof wall was breaking off in chunks. I asked what I was going to do about the weddings I had booked and he recommended I consider boots...I didn't even know horses wore boots at that time!
This is the ONLY boot on the market that fits my drafts and I need the largest size at that. Bottom line, we switched both horses to Easyboots 3 years ago, started trimming every 3 weeks instead of 6, saved money over shoes and don't intend to ever switch back. I'm not saying there are no issues to manage with boots, we treat them like part of the harness/tack...they go on when the rest of the equipment goes on and they are barefooted the rest of the time. Here are some of the cons: sometimes they rotate and dig into the heel bulb causing discomfort to the horse. This happens if the boot is not clamped down tight enough and my require an adjustment in the middle of the ride. The cables occasionally break if the horse steps on the front of his adjacent foot as when crossing over in a turn. If this happens, we pull out a spare and put that on or just pull off both front or hinds and deal with it later. Sometimes the heel strap breaks for the same reason, same solution.
PROS...Cost saving over shoes. Another aspect that beats shoes hands down is that the entire sole of the foot is protected when the boot is on. No bruising of the sole by rocks or staubs, they don't scar the surfaces your horse walks on...I can drive my carriage on painted concrete sidewalks or other decorative surfaces and never leave a mark. shoes with cleats will destroy concrete, asphalt, or almost anything the horse walks on. My horses' hooves are different colors, striped. The boots give a uniform appearance and no hoof polishing required.

after sizing solution started with a 1, too small. moved to a two, fit at the most extream tightness. did great in the rough but not so good in creek and mud. shoe was sucked off. If muddy choose the epic.

Fits my horse perfectly. The strap enclosed for application makes it much easier to put on than the ones I had many years ago.

Not good
The boot would not stay on my horses foot. Not worth the money

Will not stay on
The quality of this product is excellent but even after my farrier trimmed my horses hoof and made the fit very tight it still would not stay on. We did the recommended measurements to get the right size and even called EasyCare before ordering. Even after using the wires to tighten it she ending up losing them in the field which is a pain to locate. I recommend another kind that comes up higher past the coronary band instead of below like these are or spending even more money to buy the attachment straps.

excellent product!
Although I had seen Easy Boots used once, I didn't expect them to be as little trouble as they are to put on and take off. My horse's white foot is much softer and more prone to chipping than her black foot, and I've had extra farrier expense because of that. I was very pleased with the Easy Boots, the directions aren't "obvious" but are clear enough that I could put them on, and then after my ride remove them without difficulty.Figuring the size was a little problematic, took me a couple tries as I'd never measured a hoof that way before, but I got it, and they're wonderful protection for her feet.

My gelding has scars, perhaps from soaring but knowing him from getting it caught in a fence. Regardless I need boots that don't come in contact with the scars. I am hoping they work!

Wanted a boot that did not reach onto hairline. Other boots rub the hair and skin.

I have used these in the past to help my daughter's 4-H pony when he'd get Laminitis from snow pack. Now, years later I have a mini that has the same problem. This is the solution. I tie fluorescent orange survey flag on them in case one gets lost in the snow so I can find it. So far that hasn't been a problem.

What are the dimensions? Sole thickness of the boot, especially.
Trish G on Jul 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I got the size 4. My horses hooves are 6 1/4 long and 5 1/4 wide. They for him well. I'm guessing the soft part of the soles are about 1/2 N inch thick based on how they formed to the soles of his feet. I'm happy with them and they are providing the relief and protection he needs unt he can grow enough good for shoes again
can these be used over corrective shoeing,to keep snow balls off?
irene n on Jan 8, 2014
BEST ANSWER: hi Irene, yes it can be used in any form, from riding, corrective, barefoot, medicating, or to help keep the snow from sticking to the shoe. My best advice is; pull the shoes in lieu of the easyboot. You don't need both.
How I know, is my draft has the same problem on his front feet. I had the choice of keeping the shoes on him or removing them them until the next trim. (End of Dec '13 - mid Feb ' 14).
However, each animal comes with their own care pkg.
Hope this helps and good luck.
Can we put a wedge pad in an Epic ? If yes, should I buy a longer and wider size ?
A shopper on Feb 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I am not a good one to ask about this. I don't think I'd put a wedge in there as it may create an issue with rubbing on the back of his heels from the Easy Boot. I bought two sizes for my older Thoroughbred and most of the time I really liked the boots. I turned him out all the time in his, but it didn't stay on, and the wire got torn, so I am guessing it is mostly for horses in a stall at least part of the time...I only use them in an emergency now, so he is never without protection on his foot if he loses his regular shoe.
Will these boots stay on during a Combined Driving Marathon?
A shopper on Jun 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thoroughly tested on cross country and endurance rides, rough terrain and pavement, the Easyboot was found to out-wear steel shoes at least 3 to 1, with a range of over 500 miles. Horse owners have reported over 1000 miles per boot.

Use Easyboots only when the horse needs foot protection or traction. Do not leave Easyboots on any horse longer than 24 hours at a time.

Does this only come with one boot or 2?
Elizabeth C on Jun 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Easy Boots come one to a box. This is helpful so you don't have to pay for an extra boot laying around not earning it's keep if you only need one for injury or meds.
sold as a pair?
A shopper on Feb 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: At the time I purchased mine about 3 years ago- they were sold per boot.
Will this boot stay on my barrel horse who has a weak hoof wall and cant have shoes anymore ?
Moses on Aug 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I had success with these on my mare . but they did not fit my arabian gelding who has one very low heel / flatter foot.
Really hard to say with barrel racing and tight turns if they will stay on I think most boots are made for going down the trail and typical arena work larger circles, etc
Hope this helps!
Do these come in a set ?
A shopper on May 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No and for that reason you may need two different sizes not all feet measure the same size and if you would need to only replace, why would you want to pay for two.
Does the easy boot size correspond with shoe size?
Andria A on Jan 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I used on a 11 H Shetland /mini cross that weighs about 400 lbs or so and they fit him perfectly.I never had shoes on him so don't know if it corresponded with shoe size.
Would you put these on the front and back of the horse, or just the front hooves? Any recommendations?
A shopper on Nov 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: If the boots fit the shape of your horse's hooves, I see no reason you can't use them on the front and hind. However, in general, the front end might receive more benefit from increased protection and traction. I really only used the boots for rehabilitation purposes, I'm probably not the correct person to ask about use for any other purpose. Also, regardless of use - watch for rubs along heel bulbs. They can be quite serious.
Would they work for a driving pony on blacktop to not slip?
Commander on Nov 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don't drive, but I do ride on pavement at times and they work fine. I use the easy boot glove.

Do you have any larger sizes for my Clydsdale??
marla o on Aug 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I bought these for our 17.3 hh Percherons. Some wear size 6 shoes on front and others wear 7. These boots fit all my horses without shoes on. We use them during the winter, after pulling shoes off, because some of the horses will come up lame. Good boots. Good luck!
