Great value for the money. My horse goes through the $40.00 grazing halter in the same time he goes through the $10.00 grazing halter. Might as well save some $$.

I have used this product for several years and it works great to allow my miniature horses to be on pasture with the full size horses and not over eat.

My 20 yr old pony is diabetic. She can't be turned out any more, but the vet said if she would keep a grazing muzzle on, she might be able to go out for a few hours. Fingers crossed!

Looking for an inexpensive grazing muzzle for three horses going onto pasture. This is their first time trying out a grazing muzzle so I need to be very economical to see if they will like it.

based on the reviews this was by far the best choice. have 2 mini's that no matter how much you limit their intake without muzzles they just keep getting fatter and fatter!

I am moving my horses from a place with dry lot turnouts to a place with pasture turnouts. Even though they will be rotated to a dry lot during the day, I want to minimize their risk of colic due to the abrupt diet change.
KAREN M on May 13, 2016
Inexpensive and will do the trick as my horse managed to "lose" the grazing muzzle I had previously purchased for him.
Danielle D on Apr 16, 2016
I've purchased this item in the past and it is an excellent, much lighter option than it's pricier competitors - and actually outlasts them, too.

I have purchased this in the past. It stays on pretty good unless you have a pony that is creative. Time for a new one this year to keep him from getting to much of that fresh spring grass.

I want it for a biting horse. It has a ring at the bottom that I am hoping will work to attach her lead rope during training. It may not, if the whole thing is not sturdy enough. There is precious little information about this muzzle on the site except for what other purchasers have said, and none seem to be using it for my purpose.

will it fit big horse. grazing muzzle what are the measurements for the horse size?
jay j on Jul 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Please refer to the measurements listed in the product summary.
what are the measurements for the mini grazing muzzle?
Carol B on May 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Bottom diameter: 4 3/4"
Height: 4 1/2"
Diameter: 6 1/4"
Weight Guideline: 150-300lbs
Does this economy grazing muzzle have a breakaway mechanism?
A shopper on Aug 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No, it does not, If the muzzle happens to get caught on something & the horse pulls back trying to get free the muzzle will practically self destruct. The basket is not very strong, so when pulled on with any force it will come apart. Considering the cost; they are quite economical compared to more the expensive ones and in my opinion are just as durable.

My pony is around 19 inches where his halter band usually rides. He's short from muzzle to his poll, but kinda big around. what size grazing muzzle would you recommend?

Any breathing issues with this Muzzle ?
Amy T on May 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I had one break that was 4 years old. And my pony chewed the Plastic hole that is in the front until it was larger. We bought 4 or 5 last time we made an order and they have worked well for us. If I remember correctly they do run a little smaller than other ones we have used.
there is a silver ring under muzzle, what is it for?
A shopper on May 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I ended up not using this muzzle because I found out that foundering was not the issue, but I have to assume the ring is to hook a lead rope to because the muzzle would cover the halter. Hope this helps.
Does it just attach to a halter?
A shopper on Aug 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: As the picture shows it is a stand alone muzzle that comes with the all straps required to hold the muzzle on your horses head, no additional straps are required. I simply put the muzzle on my horse after I have put on his fly mask. (fly mask first then muzzle). This muzzle fits my 900 lb Tennessee Walker and lasts one season,(April through November) as he gets close to November the hole has worn large and I start him out the next season with a new one.
Do they run true to size?
A shopper on Jun 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They do run true to size in my experience -- BUT -- you must measure the horse carefully to increase chances of a good fit.

Would it be ok to turn my mini our in this for about 12 hrs?
A shopper on May 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I love this grazing muzzle! It has saved my mini's life. He shows signs of laminitis in the spring and sometimes in the winter depending on the hay. I use this muzzle in the spring as the grass is coming in, he has it on for 10 hours or so. He eats what he can hay wise before the muzzle goes on and he goes out to the fields. First time the muzzle was on he didn't know what to think, he still snorts a bit when first put it on because he loves to eat a lot, but he settles into grazing quickly. It's perfect for limiting grass, and drinking water is fine. Hope this helps!
How do you measure your pony, to make sure it will fit?
A shopper on May 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Essentially you want to measure two areas:
the distance from the tip of the muzzle to a couple fingers below the eye (for the muzzle height)
and the circumference around the muzzle. Keep the measuring tape in the same circle shape so you can measure the diameter across.

What is a cob?
Larry D on Jun 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It's a measurement between pony size and horse size. Cob size generally fits small horses such as Arabians, Paso Finos, etc. Hope that helps answer your question.
Does this muzzle have a break away halter?
Vicki on Aug 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes! It has a three-ply velcro breakaway feature. If you've been looking at the Best Friend grazing muzzle, this is basically a lighter-weight version of that more expensive name-brand model. I actually liked it better because it wasn't as heavy and held up equally well. Actually, I found that it held up better than the pricier models.
Can these grazing muzzles be used when riding? I would like something to curb horses from taking advantage of little hands when riding tall grass.
Laura S on Sep 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You can use a grazing muzzle when riding only if you are using a bitless bridle or hackamore. You would need to purchase a larger size of muzzle and it would be a challenge to put the muzzle on over the bridle without catching the bit or other bridle parts and causing discomfort to your pony. I have seen a buckle only muzzle that might be a better option for you.
What are the measurements for the cob/yearling muzzle? And the horse? I don't understand the size chart.
Karen T on Jun 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I bought two of these in the mini horse size and they fit and worked perfectly on our mini's. So the sizing was perfect for them. Have lasted well and buying another for a friends mini horse
